Great step by the Indian government. I recall being criticized by people in the comment section on a video when I criticized DRDO. DRDO is nothing but an SBI branch where there is no accountability on the projects. A simple example was given here in this video where tejas was delayed by 30 years. I know few people who had worked with DRDO and they had told the stories of DRDO during UPA rule and the mindset of slow progress. They might ve very few scientists who were actually during substantial work otherwise the condition was like BSNL etc. If we want to progress and be at par with Global Giants and Future Giants , then we need to change and become agile. So , this is definitely a bold step which might be painful as pf now but it will be beneficial in long term.

You can not be a engineer or researcher by reading books.Indian govt. Must fund students for two to three years so that they may show projects by their own.India immediately need huge research on harware technology. IAS and IPS people do not have capacity to make India comparable to that of US or France.DRDO must work like "CERN" , "McLaren " , "Boeing" etc. It can't improve if it does work like another govt. Organusation. AND software is not the future,it is the electronics and automation and sensors are future.

Evaluation of scientists must. No performance no pay. Needs futuristic views. 10% employee for management rest scientists.

I think DRDO should be dissolved. And It should be made a private sector firm. Because many people think that when they get sarkari Naukri they don't have to work.
