My neighbor is in the harvesting business and they run 6 Claas with 900 hp each. There is a dairy next door that has 2 units with 40,000 cows each...that takes mountains of silage ad the spreading of mountains of manure. Only in Texas can enterprise like this exist.

Not really. Saudi has 100,000 cow unit. China similar. Always amazed at US arrogance thinking they can achieve the big stuff only. Plus - it’s nothing to be proud of in this case. Units this large must be zero grazing, AYR housed. Should be banned.

This year my neighbor ran seven model 9900 JD choppers. The silage pits they help fill are massive...this dairy must be the largest in the US. To think that the owner started with 8 cows in 1970's after immigrating from Portugal.

The pusher tractors are not giving room to the trucks so they have to wait to unload. If trucks need to wait anywhere, it should be in the field and not at the pile. Get with the program boys.

@yongfengzhao23965 жыл бұрын
Mark Kingston I mean the tractors are out of the pile almost half of the time , why not let them stay on the pile to back and forth. So the weight of tractor is always on silage. Also the tractor won’t bother the unloading trucks. Let me know what is the logistics behind such packing methods.
@danieltownsend19834 жыл бұрын

lane heward kinda hard to say they’re not being efficient when they’ve obviously been pretty successful 😂
@jfdb595 жыл бұрын
This is accomplishing the packing passes at the same time though due to the the high frequency of traffic. With no tractor having to reverse. This would be very efficient. You don't bring around five million in tractors alone to a job without thinking it through first. haha.
@black07rr5 жыл бұрын
jfdb59 exactly what I was thinking, the continuous moving circle of heavy articulated, dual wheeled tractors is very efficient
@layneheward53925 жыл бұрын
👍🏼😁.
@MikeD-lo9yb5 жыл бұрын
@@jfdb59 that's ridiculous. While reversing on the stack the tractor is compacting. The method shown here is fast but not productive. All the push tractors on the concrete are doing nothing. The semi trucks are tripping over each other and getting tangled in the circling tractors. But I assume once the stack is bigger then most of the tractors will be on it and the situation will improve

I have got to say that looks like a very good set up you got going. I love how all the tractors are the truck's are working in tandem. That is a very good process going on. Not one of the tractors that are pushing are seating and waiting to push and it's all coordinated pretty good. Only thing is if you could figure out how to keep the truck's from having to wait to back in to walk the load off you would have it locked. But still nice job. How many trucks you got hauling? If I had to guess just from the video it looks like o I'd guess 10 or more,but I'm probably wrong. Anywho nice work!

they keep on rolling... is not how often u compact, the thickness of compacting is the answer. have each layer only 2-3cm or less on there first compacting is enough, to set next layer. the thinner the less often you have to drive over it

4 more stacks behinds this one they only came together for the video
I'm sure it's only done like this for the video and it might looks impressive to the uninitiated - but that's got to be the least efficient system possible!!! The packers are only on the clamp for less than half of the time, for more than half the time they're just getting in the way of the wagons so they're just standing around waiting......

not well organized though, the tractors are constantly interfering with the trucks. it would have been better to left side then right side and keep switching or build the pile from both ends. also the tractors are spending more than half their time on the ground. most tractors did not have weights added. the tractors constantly driving in a circle and the trucks are supposed to unload in the middle, that's just silly. this is just really inefficient and not doing a good job at packing.
