I grew up in South Florida and in the 1980s when most of the Drugs were being brought into Florida for the United States the Federal Government was competing with the Drug Cartels to have the fastest Off Shore Race Boats to have the advantage over the other at one point the Government was using a Boat that was called the Blue Thunder and I knew of a private fenced in peice of property in Dania Florida that had several of the Blue Thunder Vessels on their trailers. Parked inside that fenced in Property I did move out of Florida in the late 80s and those boats just kind of disappeared sadly. Now my jet boat I rebuilt then put in a 1969 402 big block that left GM in 1969 at 425 Hp . Nothing stops this Chevrolet engine and I can run it at 1/4 throttle with 8 people in the jet boat at 35 MPH. It is a beast of an engine for a jet boat !

Especially if the bad guy is holding a long gun of some sort. Maybe what they didn't show us in the video though, is the .50-cal that folds up on a bow-mount from the front deck? Of course the BlackHawks can bring the pain, but what if there's none around?
@chasemcglaughlin80442 жыл бұрын
Well with a crew of 4 people, I'm guessing one gun is on the motors, and the other dismount with a gun is pointed or at least at the low ready towards the hostile crew on the boat

Have you seen how many seats are on that thing,I would not go near a gun unless I wanted to be mince meat
@JohnHill-k6p5 ай бұрын
When they’re actually out on patrol, there’s always a guy behind him with a fully automatic weapon, backing him up the guy with the shotgun. His only job is to disable the boat. The other person is there to disable people.

So why doesn't the boat have an armoured shield for the crew to hide behind?

exactly. Hasn't any of these design geniuses, or people using them, figured out that MAYBE SOMEONE WILL SHOOT AT THEM! It makes no sense.

So when a boat flies by way faster than 70mph they call???? It's a neat training boat, I'd like to know how many busts it's ever made if it's ever made one.

I have Seen these boats running in the waters off Florida and I will say the will run in the 80's easily and even if they encounter something faster they always have helicopters available.

Can turn "almost vertical"? That's something I'd like to see because that would literally be impossible, unless it has a deployable rocket engine and wings.
@artemotion30223 жыл бұрын
You never operated a RHIB I guess. It will stand up near vertical on the side and start skipping on the water if you are too aggressive. The props will have cavitation, but not sure why aggressive turns will do that. These characteristics are not unique to this RHIB.

Bat wings AKA performance fins is what it has. And yes they do work insanely well turning on a dime at nearly full speed, my recent test ride was unreal.

While it's a video to demonstrate, I highly doubt a drug boat would allow a police boat to go along side and shoot the motors. More like it would be a gun fight between them.
@batvette3 жыл бұрын
Not likely. Its a huge leap for a criminal to go from smuggling drugs to murdering cops, especially when most of them are foreign nationals who get released to the custody of their home countries where their freedom is bought cheap from corrupt authorities.

Ahhh ... but who are the "good" guys ? I heard the USA created the Taliban in order to help them in their war against Al Qaeda in Afghanistan and their future wars against them so as to ensure the Military continues to maintain a valid reason in order to function ... and that they also created Isis ! and that the UK maintains a false God who believes His Holiness Christ the Messiah is "insane" and that she, her DNA Bloodline and those who chose to be tricked / conned / swindled into enslaving themselves to maintaining and preserving such a nefarious lie are God.
