@@nix324 it is still said that “current flows from positive to negative”. Since electrons are the ones that are moving then this statement should be stupid too! But people use it. Its to make it less complicated! Most people who know the basics will understand that movement of electrons cause holes to move. ∴ why complicate things!

Amazing! I am reviewing these topics for my upcoming final and was dismayed when I realized that I had forgotten the fundamentals; however, I remembered your channel from the first time I learned it and found my way back. Not only did you make it feel intuitive, but you even left notes in the description so that we could review them after the video. Thank you so much; I will no doubt be recommending your channel to all my friends and everyone who takes this class after. This video deserves more likes.

00:16 PN junction is formed by doping a silicon crystal with p-type and n-type impurities 02:13 When electrons diffuse across the junction, they create positive and negative ions near the junction. 04:13 Electrons and holes are able to cross the depletion region due to the barrier potential created by immobile ions 06:00 When a PN Junction is not biased, the overall current in the circuit will be zero. 07:46 Increasing applied voltage reduces depletion region width and allows current flow. 09:34 Movement of electrons and holes leads to current flow in forward and reverse biased PN junctions 11:19 Reverse saturation current is a low magnitude current that flows in the reverse bias condition in a PN junction diode 13:14 Temperature rise leads to an increase in reverse saturation current and breakdown voltage in PN Junction. 7:28 you said electrons from n side and holes from p side get pushed towards junction, that means the the positive ions close to centre will get the electrons from backside and negative ions close to centre will get holes from their back side. This results in the accumulation of neutral ions(as in centre some time ago)in their respective terminals?

Does the built-in potential refer to the voltage of the depletion region? Meaning is the voltage difference 0? Otherwise negative charge may flow. So does the potential of the to edges of the depletion region same (0.7 V) ?
