I love this track and I cherish my CD copy of the original Sambanova with the cover that looks like it was done on a colour photocopier. Pure Gold!

This song has such a suave and surreal feel to it, capturing that late 90s and early 2000s vibe beautifully.

This is by far my favourite Pnau album. I remember walking past some music store when it was first released and the smooth tunes were flowing down the street. I ran in & purchased it on the spot. I fell in love with every track. I so wish Pnau would follow up on this amazing 50's sound. I agree with @herofrog, it's just not the same with the end bit.

Desolation... Lord! Desolation is a railroad station 'Round about 2am on a week night! When you walk into Desolation like that, And suddenly, out of nowhere, Comes a warm song you aren't about to forget. This is the first time, though, that I've heard him at an airport. I know he moves along the piers. He calls himself a Journey Agent, of Ulipia! Says his friends the poets and the artists and musicians are Ulipians too. Hey, listen - listen to his tune...

Holy crap, this is literally the first time I've heard this song in at least a decade. A friend of mine reminded me of the existence of Pnau's Sambanova a couple weeks ago, and tonight I decided to delve into them a bit. I had no idea this track was by Pnau! I used to listen to this all the time as a kid on some random compilation CD. I feel like I'm being warped back 15 years.

It was a high point of that era. Captivating on Rage at the time.

Oh, I have to confess, I didn't actually check the summary. I just search for this video every few months. Allow me to personally fawn over your work. A fantastic song, only further enhanced by a superb video clip. It really ranks among my favourites. I've often wanted to emulate the sentiment in some fashion. KZbin is better for having it.

Didn't this track have an outro bit, where there was some afromerican woman saying "He called himself a 'Journey Agent', ahaha!" or something like that...? Listening to this and Discone make me miss Pnau. Gotta find that Sambanova album again, great music.

hey the drums aren't sampled from "take 5" are they? in fact they're in some sort of 4 time signature, but they're quite similar to the take 5 beat?

Great track and clip, but this doesn't seem to be the full song with the classic lyrics: [Desolation.. Lord! Desolation is a railroad station 'Round about 2am on a week night When you walk into Desolation like that And suddenly, out of nowhere Comes a warm song you aren't about to forget This is the first time, though, that I've heard him at an airport I know he moves along the piers He calls himself a Journey Agent, of Ulipia Says his friends the poets and the artists and musicians Are Ulipians too Hey, listen - listen to his tune..]

St Germain 'Tourist" is fantastic, early music from AIR (Premiers symptomes, moon safari), Massive attack (any album but "unfinished sympathy'" is epic), Tricky. There's some to start discovering if you haven't already :-)
