The trace tool is a god send.. its been out a while but I just found out about it a year ago doing my Van's headliner..would it have been easier to just sliver tape car and overfender. Then fill space with expanding foam. Let dry then sand. . Fiberglass??

Of course, it's no where near touching :)

I would use spray foam to fill that hole then take off fender and you would have shape as a guide to shape the little wall you made (but maybe it works only in my mind, haha) . But non the less top work bud (y)

You could put rivnuts to the fender to make instal easier
