I had severe chest pains several months back and my parents shrugged it off as "bad posture" and "inflammation". It got better until it suddenly came back a few days ago. My parents originally shrugged it off again, until I insisted on finding a doctor, who immediately referred me to an emergency room. Got diagnosed with pneumothorax a few hours later and got surgery the next day. Will need to do another, more comprehensive surgery in half a month's time. Parents. Listen to your kids when they say they need medical help.

Having a chest tube dug inside of me between my ribs 3 times was the worst pain ever in my life . now wearing masks because of covid I know my left lung is collapsed. It been 14 years since I've had pneumothorax I don't want to go through that pain again.

I’m here from the engineer who survived his 69 car freight becoming a runaway and flew off a curve into a neighborhood in California in May 1989. Crazy how he survived with a collapsed lung and broken ribs.

Undervent surgery for this yesterday morning. Was hooked up to the box you saw in the picture for 2 weeks and connected to a wall which meant I was able to move about 10 feet in any direction. Got a newer one on Monday that doesn't need to be hooked up, but it didn't really help much so they went in an scraped the damn thing to pieces.. But now I'm hopefully able to go home in a day or two, unless it collapses again when they take out the tube..

my left lung collapsed afew days ago I didn't even know, just felt shortness of breath and shallow breathing. Drove to hospital and they did a chest x-ray and told me. put on oxygen and went to emergency surgery straight away.. the pain the next day with the drain in was almost unbearable at times. Multiple painkillers didn't even work ... Oxyconten or oxynorm was the only one that helped the pain.. never want to have that Operation again it is horrible

Im watching because of my dnd campaign. I found a malnourished child with a hole in his lung, healed it to keep him stable but couldnt repair the hole so now im trying to find ways to medically do it. Sometimes magic cant do it all even when youre a cleric in a world where gods exist

I remember sitting in class in october 2018, and randomly starting to feel pain in the lung area. The pain was increasing and in my mind I started freaking out. In the end my lung had collapsed to the point where I had problems talking proparly. I sounded like someone kicked a ball in my stomach. I called my mom, we went to the doctor, and got the situation cleared up. We drove to the hospital and got the news that my lung was good enough not to operate. I had to stay for one night tho. My next collapse, which was much weaker, was a month later. No need to go to the hospital. In 2019 I had no collapses. In 2020 I've had three so far. July, august and september. My last one lasted for three days.

My son was diagnosed with Emphysema/blebs at age 15. Congenital diaphragmatic hernia and surgery @ 5 hrs after coming into this world. Why are blebs considered Emphysema? Trapped air the same as blebs? My son will lift his shoulders I've noticed like he is trying to get a deep breathe? He is 34 yrs. old and uses an inhaler for asthma. How important is it for my son to be seen by a pulmonologist?? Get blebs removed? Concerned Mom

So I went to the emergency room yesterday to find out I have pneumonia I was told by the doctor that I have a partially collapsed lung towards the bottom of one of my lungs. I have a sister who's a nurse and she told me one of the things I could do to help treated it was to hold my breath and take deep breaths. Is this true?

JC323SOCAL I had multiple pneumothorax when I was in high school 20 years ago. I ended up having surgery to remove a portion of my lung. I felt something pop in my chest last night and woke up this morning with the unmistakable pain of a pneumothorax. It’s not life threatening and I have a fishing trip planned for tomorrow so I’ll probably wait to go to the Dr until I get back. Hopefully it’s a quick recovery like yours was. I really don’t want to do that surgery again.

tallcip65 hi, so how does the checkup goes? Is it minor spontaneous pneumothorax and did you recover from that? I have similar surgery 10 years ago and it’s recurring after i did heavy weight chest exercise. I have to keep on drawing the air out consciously by myself through my own meditation and lying down posture now everyday constantly. If you know better cure to this it would help me a lot as I don’t wish to go for another surgery, thanks~

I was recently hospitalized due to Covid and had a pneumothorax while in the hospital. Now due to lack of insurance and money because I lost my job prior to going into the hospital, i haven't been able to due the physical therapy for my lung strengthening. I have been coughing on and off expelling the mucus in my right lung and take a deep breath but then at times i start coughing when I do. Is there any recommendations you can provide to help me with this issue ? Be it going for walks or something else that can help me breathe normally ? Please any information is greatly appreciated ! That’s fucked. I smoked a joint today and I was just randomly standing up and I got light headed and felt this pain in my back and then I started feel shortness of breath and I just got a bad panic or anxiety attack when it was happening I went down stairs to my mom telling her I don’t feel good I was walking back and forth my heart was pounding it was scary not sure if I should go get check out or not but when I thought to myself my lung might have just collapsed that’s when it all started

Hum not to be rude or anything but if you call yourself teaching the newer generation please before you start a video, always give more detail into what the students are looking at. Don't start at the 45% mark, start at the 5% mark. Most importantly don't just show a dane model figure, explain to your viewers what it is, what they are looking at and more detail into what they see on the lungs. Please do that. I don't want to see people just talking about it. I want to see people learning from your video. You didn't even explain atelectasis which is a lost of aeration of the lung due to etc. Like if your going to teach, teach. Plus Phemothoraix vs Collapsed lung i.e,..It all has meaning.

Okay you need to be informed vaping has been proven to damage the lungs it may not be quite smoking but dude the nicotine itself is pretty much not a potent toxin itself its the shit in smoke that is nicotine itself has zero effect on the lung
