Great video. I would like to point out, however, that coffee-though it is certainly an ineffective means of acquiring energy-should not necessarily be eliminated from any diet. Many recent studies have found that coffee has medicinal properties that drastically reduce the onset and development of cancer cells. The important point here is that you can get the same benefits from decaffeinated than you can from normal, caffeinated coffee. Smoothies with a shot of decaf may provide many benefits.

As you said "he's one of the FEW who have competed at a high level on 100% plant based diet". A few can do it, not all, or even the majority.

Hi! Obviously I'm kinda late getting to this video but just the same I want to ask a question that hopefully you'll come across and answer. Being that you've had the opportunity to speak with Brendan and become friendly, can you tell me how Brendan determined the % breakout of stressors in our bodies? How does he know that of the uncomplimentary stress load, 70% is due to diet - is it a matter of having researched the published average diet stats? Thanks.

I came here to get informed about Thrive but this is a partly untenable propaganda video. - Where do those stress level numbers come from? (70% digest stress) - Twinkies have a low energy density? Thats just wrong. What do you think fat people were getting fat from? Low energy ice cream? - Do you think the required amino acid (i.e. Methionin) which is used to build a cell is different if it comes from Twinkies or beans?

@@Runner466 Low energy density means that it is not very usable immediately. Foods like high fiber beetroot, carrots, broccoli, zucchini are broken down easily are able to be used as energy. Foods like beef, chicken, or twinkies are 1) hard to process and 2) processed! it is like trying to make a sandcastle from wet sand vs. trying to make a sandcastle from a rock by breaking it down and then making it into a sandcastle. Because people who eat twinkies consistently having a lot of 'rocks' and are not able to turn them into sandcastles, they are gaining a lot of weight without the energy to be able to burn them off.
