I have exactly the same issue with the ION Traze 3 hip pack re: side pockets - The fit and adjustability are brilliant, but the side pockets are way too small for anything other than loose jelly beans.

I have a Camelback bumbag but just find it a little small especially with my phone so a little bit bigger is good. This looks ideal but don't want it moving about much!

Have the Bontrager rapid pack - owned it for 3 years and its amazing for a light pack for 3-4 hour rides, one bottle in the bag one in the frame - perfect.

Yep, that’s my favourite fast and light pack too.

I have this too. The only reason I'm looking for something different is that I'm hoping to start carrying a camera with me- so, I'll at least need a larger, undivided main pocket.

@@mydearriley the one from Rapha looks quite a bit more roomy

Thanks for the review, which one do you like?

I use a Deuter at the moment but the Camelbak and DaKine packs are good too

Have you tried the Lab Austere hip pack?

Are the press studs strong enough to hold a full water bottle when it's rattling around on the trail
@GuyKesTV3 жыл бұрын
They’ve been fine so far, it sits in against the pack for support anyway

My instant concern was that the press studs would loosen up over time with many attachments/un-attachments. But, if I know PNW, those press studs are going to be very high quality.

did you end up reviewing the ergon BA hip pack?

Oh man I’m so far behind with reviews it’s appalling. Let me dig it out!

@@GuyKesTV cheers! Thank you! I’m in the market and looking. I don’t always like to ride with the bladder system, so I’m wondering if that right mesh phone pocket can be retrofitted to use a 21oz water bottle? If you can let me know, that’d be very much appreciated!

Nice Video! I just received mine! I have to say you're a little nit picky with all those keys! I would just carry the essential keys - it seems they will fit. However, I am a little concerned when you mentioned you need to hike up the pack when you're riding. I hope it's not too bad.
@GuyKesTV2 жыл бұрын
I’m a professional nit picker unfortunately. Minimal keys will be fine and I’ve passed it on to a mate who loves it so sure you’ll get on great with yours.

Is the water bottle holder easy to use? Do you have to force the bottle in?
@GuyKesTV Жыл бұрын
No it's pretty easy to use but still secure

I put all my other keys etc. on a mini carabiner so that I can unclip them from my car key and leave them in the car.
@GuyKesTV3 жыл бұрын
That would of course be the really smart thing to do 🤦♂️
@scotti_wan_kenobi3 жыл бұрын
@@GuyKesTV the main reason I did it was the noise of my keys jangling in my pack used to annoy me. It was just an added bonus of taking up less space when I only took the car key with me. 👍

Such a bad design, as if they haven't done any testing before releasing it... It's almost time for me to look for a new hip pack, but currently I see nothing getting close to Evoc Pro 3L (which has the only downside of not being waterproof).
