What's interesting is that this guy has an opinion about someone who otherwise has no clue he exists. People who have an ego or self confidence issue demonstrate these tendencies. While I enjoy repair videos on both channels, NWR's attitude towards Alex is unwarranted and unnecessary.

@@mike6340unwarranted?? This NRF clown calls himself an expert, 90% of his graphics card "fixes" are just the dumb connector issues or a knocked off component. Yet he still doesn't actually test his fixes. "Hey it posted, it's fixed , ship it!" . The other 10% are no fixes because he doesn't know what he's doing with TRU diagnosing and ACTUAL REPAIR ! Go back to his earlier videos. NRF has a preheater, and knows how to use it. These are two completely different types repair shops. NRF has many years on NWR . There is no comparison, because they are totally different. NWR isnt wrong..at the same time. NRF is all about making money at his business. You cant fault either of them.

northridge is an ape and a-hole, he is lazy and has no idea what he is doing, he doesn't actually fix much. he deems a lot of very expensive hardware as "unfixable" because he doesn't want to spend more than 15 minutes on it, and just pockets the "diagnostic fee". he can't reball memory/cores. he doesn't know how to diagnose a lot of hardware. and yet people still send him their $2000 GPUs, pay him a ton of money for no reason.

Measuring resistances while while voltage circuit is complete gives you 0 ohms. Like that 1.8v rail you measured while it was active. And while actualy having dead short rail wont power up. 1.8v was clearly generated by the card. We all make mistakes, not only northridgefix.

For the 4090 that said memory errors but seemed fine ask what CPU was used. If it was a raptorlake chip there's a very high likelihood that it was a cpu issue. Ask them to down clock it to something like 4ghz on the p cores and ring and test again.

i have had bad motherboards, one 8 years old and another only 3 years old that pointed to a gou memory corruption problem with every graphics card I tried. replaced the motherboards and all was good. something to keep in mind for some people. these motherboards worked great for years until they started to become unstable and crash regularly in games, failing gou memory tests. some kind of bus instability caused by failing motherboard that could not be fixed by underclocking or overvolting the bus.

VRM errors must be the infamous 13th and 14th Gen Intel CPU degradation. Once those CPU degrade enough, they give wild errors including the video memory issues. One of example mentions right at the start here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fnrYk42PrKeZhsU but later it has expanded not only into i9. More CPU were degradation prone, than not prone.

Sure, if the card is working properly then it isn’t a problem. But if the circuit is shorted somewhere, either the core is stone cold or it is blazing hot. You can’t rely on thermal throttling as it is not always working in this kind of situation.
