VRM errors must be the infamous 13th and 14th Gen Intel CPU degradation. Once those CPU degrade enough, they give wild errors including the video memory issues. One of example mentions right at the start here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fnrYk42PrKeZhsU but later it has expanded not only into i9. More CPU were degradation prone, than not prone.

Every single CPU from the 13th and 14th gen, including locked and mobile CPUs were effected by the degradation. Every. Last. One. Many of them got the BIOS update before the degradation caused stability problems, but every single chip that was powered up on the faulty bios was degraded to some extent, with no exceptions.
