"i’ve been teaching myself to cry so that you know how much you’re loved" this line is so powerful. even if it's meant to be from the point of view of the vocaloid, these words can mean so much for real people. learning to handle and embrace your emotions, to ultimately end up with love. it moved me to tears when i first heard it, truly a beautiful sentiment.

_ "Porter" is ポーター in katakana (PŌ-TĀ). _ ぽうたあ in hiragana (read the same, but written as PO-U-TA-A). _ うた means song (U-TA). _ "Po-uta" is "Porter" but japanised and written so that it separates the word "song". Fun and clever name!

I agree, but even if it sounds so robotic it feels alive. The breathy voice indicates that it was brimming with life, even though it is just a Vocaloid, I can feel a strong attachment to it. I just love how Porter Robinson made Po-uta a machine brimming with life. It was just like the main theme in his recent music. His theme is a huge blend of machine and life. Even though it sounds robotic, you can feel that it has emotions just like humans. And his lyrics get me so emotional, every time I hear his music. It was so full of life and emotions and I applaud Porter Robinson for that.

Vocaloid has been the one of the most positive things in my life. It’s gotten me through some of the hardest parts of my life. I was diagnosed with chronic acute pancreatitis as a child, and it’s made everything, from middle school up until college now, so much more of a challenge. Vocaloid music connects with me in a way that I can’t even explain… and songs like Sad Machine and Fresh Static Snow have been some of my favorites :) To have Porter come back to vocaloid in such a crazy cool way makes me happier than I’ve been in a long time :) I love Vocaloid, I love Porter and his music, and I am so grateful to still be here to experience music like this. I don’t think I could have gotten to this point without either of them. Also, I like how the tuning style is similar to kz (livetune) style, you may know him from songs like Tell Your World, Weekender Girl, and Last Night Good Night :D

It's a nice pun there! In Japanese Porter is pronounced 'pōtā' (the 'o' and 'a' is pronounced a bit longer). The reason he named it 'Po-uta' is because the Japanese word for 'song' is 'uta' (歌). When 'o' is followed by 'u', the 'o' is pronounced longer but the 'u' is silent, for example, the word 'nichijou' (which means 'daily life') is pronounced 'nichijō'. It's not just a nice pun, but a triple pun!
