As a part-time artist and full-time student, this song really speaks to me, especially "I just can't stop I'm sorry." And "I just wanna do everything" and what hurts, "Isn't it time you get a job." I enjoy what I study, but when I don't draw, I get depressed and feeling my creativity melt away is a horrible feeling. I'm trying to make my caricature art business flourish, little by little, to give myself satisfaction and make people happy when I draw them. Thank you, Porter, for this anthem for all artists and our insatiable desire to create ❤️🫶🏻😊

As a freelance music composer, I really resonate with this. There's always this outside pressure that making music isn't a job and that you're actually wasting your time and your life. There's times where you don't get much work because it's mostly contract-based jobs and that really makes you doubt things. But in the end there's just something so special about coming up with a piece of music that makes you feel something. There's a drive that I feel like all musicians feel and it's not something you can just turn away from.

What’s crazy is that the protagonist… fails. He doesn’t succeed in getting that music out for everyone to hear, the disc is still in his hand when he gets ejected from the breaking apart station. However… the music does come out, and it does have its impact. The protagonist failed to get their music where they wanted… but the music reached the people it needed to reach anyway. When you create, you obviously know what you want your creation to do. However… there is no guarantee you will accomplish your goals. THAT DOESN’T MEAN YOHR ART HAS NO EFFECT OR DOESN’T REACH AN AUDIENCE. This idea that you simply do the best you can and you leave the end result to fate… AND THAT SUCH VAGUE UNCERTAINTY IS OKAY… BECAUSE YOU HAVE FAITH IT WILL REACH THE PERSON OR PEOPLE IT NEEDS TO REACH… EVEN IF IT’S NOT BY YOUR HANDS…. Transcendent! Bravo!

I had severe depression, really bad anxiety and kept having dark thoughts. I don't really have any friends where I live because I isolated myself so much after the whole pandemic situation. I also went through a really painful breakup that made my depression worse. I started listening to Porter Robinson last year. Porter performed for his nurture tour in France few days ago and I really wanted to go see him. I had no one to go with but I forced myself to go out and face my social anxiety. Let me tell you it was an amazing experience seeing him live. I had a big smile on my face and I enjoyed every bit of it. Everyone in the room was singing along and it just made me happy. Made me realize that there is a life out here, a whole world. I used to be so pessimistic and sad about things but I won't go into details. I'm a huge fan now because of his uplifting and heartwarming music, his creativity but also his really sweet, kind soul. I know I'm not the only one struggling in life. I'm just really grateful I got to discover Porter and it really kind of saved me. I now practice positivity. When I feel down, I just listen to his songs and remember that there's more to life than my pain. He inspires me to be a better person, to not give up, to keep going, for the good moments. They're worth it. Thank you so much Porter, for sharing your world with us. ❤️

Not to be all tender or heartwarming or anything but it is so beautiful to me that porter made this little anthem for all the musicians out there. Like all the pain that comes with this creative process....he just put in this little package for us to enjoy when we’re going through shit. I love that.

The music video is actually my favorite part about this. As an avid E ve and Zutomayo fan, I instantly recognized the art style of Waboku and Mah and it was so cool to see how surprisingly natural their styles combined in this video. This song. I cannot evennnn.... I cried for the first time, truly, free of bullshit for the first time since I was 6 or 7. I struggle so much to find meaning. Life to me seems boring, pointless, and bitter with no point. No one will understand me, no one can understand me, I can't write what I want to write. Everything I do will only end up in failure. I will never ever feel whole. This song stands in such opposition to that view. To sing, to dance. I'm still crying as I write this....... I felt it so hard, I cried (literally) while I learned the lyrics live. It felt like the hug I needed that I didn’t know that I needed. The odds of Porter seeing this is slim but if I could say anything to him.. Thank you for the hug. I made the right choice just before walking in through the doors of the Warfield tonight and your song confirmed it.

Love how this blends the ideas of malware delivered via CD and audio tunes designed to give machines commands. It is a completely fictional setting, but I also love how it's the easily breakable compact disc that the surveillance state is afraid of and not the seemingly easy to conceal rocket powered roller blades that can outmaneuver surface to surface missiles. Great song and animation, I hope to see more like it.
