UPDATE: This recipe has now been added to COOKIDOO to ensure your poached eggs are perfect every time!
How to cook perfect poached eggs everytime.
This method can be used in both the TM5 & TM6 model - as it uses the Blade Cover.
Blade Cover can be purchased from TheMix Shop thermomix.com....
Ingredients:
4 eggs straight from the fridge and individually cracked into small cups
1700 grams water (can be boiled in kettle if you wish OR use the TM6 Kettle mode)
100 grams white vinegar (this is a critically important ingredient)
Manual Method (if you have a TM6 then use the COOKIDOO recipe called "Poached Eggs using the Blade Cover"
Insert Blade Cover.
Pour in boiling water and vinegar (or you can use cold water and then use the Kettle Mode on TM6 to bring to the boil)
Bring the water back to the boil (100 degrees) with the steaming basket on top of lid to stop splatter
Once boiled, remove steaming basked and proceed as follows:
3 minutes / 100 degrees / reverse / soft spoon speed / MC and steaming basket OFF
As soon as the time has counted down to 2 minutes 45 seconds, begin carefully pouring in the eggs one at a time - this usually takes about 15 seconds.
Depending how quickly you can add the eggs, the total poaching time will be between 2 minutes and 45 seconds and 2 minutes 30 seconds.
As soon as the time has finished, carefully remove the lid and use a slotted spoon to remove eggs one at a time.
Drain on some paper towel and serve.
NOTE: the timing is completely up to you - the timing above will result in a runnier yoke, but you can experiment with timing and increase if you prefer a harder yoke.

Your Thermomix will be delivered directly to you and I will support your Thermomix journey as your personal Consultant.

Great Tracy. Thank you. The sauce comes from Worcestershire here in England, we abbreviate the County and the sauce name to Worcester - pronounced, more or less, as ‘Wuster’ sauce. Hope this helps x

my wife bought these plastic egg poachers from temu, for cooking eggs in the microwave,. years ago we tried microwave poached eggs and they were like rubber, these things actually work, and 2 eggs in our micro take 45 seconds to have a runny yolk with cooked whites, but it took a few goes to get the timing right, and no need to drain the eggs ,its our go to method now for poaching eggs, our microwave actually cooks something instead of reheating food

For the purposes of the video, I see how you would want everything ready, but at home, you have three minutes waiting for the eggs so you can start the toast after dropping the eggs to have warm toast with the eggs. Thanks for showing the use of the blade cover. I could see making hollandaise sauce in the machine first too and putting it off to the side.

This seems incredibly complex to me. I have these plastic covered cups, 1 teaspoon of water in each, an egg in each, @42 seconds in the microwave (YMMV), wait 30 seconds, and perfect poached eggs.

Hello Sarah. Thank you so much for your message. Congratulations on your TM6 - you are very lucky to be gifted one! I am in Australia, and so the time difference would make it a little tricky for me. What I would suggest is that you look at the Thermomix Website (based in the UK) and request that a local Consultant get in touch with you. This common practice in Australia and I hope that it is the case in the UK also. In the meantime, please feel free to subscribe to my KZbin Channel where you have lots of choices of what to watch. I would also recommend that you research COOKIDOO in the UK - this is where you will find all the recipes you see me making. Good luck with your Thermomix Journey! Best Wishes Tracey

Thank you for watching my videos. I have not ever tried poaching eggs in the shell using the sous vide method....There is always more than one way to achieve the same outcome, no matter what we are doing. The trick is to find the method that suits you and go with it! Happy Thermomixing, cheers Tracey

Is it possible to accidentally destroy the blade cover by pressing the wrong speed? Cheers
@traceydibartolo-thermomixc3392
@traceydibartolo-thermomixc3392 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Mark. My honest answer is that I don't know....primarily because I have never done so myself (so I cannot speak from experience). The instructions that come with the Blade Cover definitely states "Reverse, Speed 1, with a maximum temp of 100 degrees" and I have not tried anything different. So my advice would be - follow the manufacturer recommendations and stay at Speed 1 or lower. Cheers Tracey
