POAL RECYCLING: FIRST IN THE WORLD OF ITS KIND EXEMPLARY PLANT

The innovative facility is the result of the collaboration between AMUT, ECOPLASTEAM and REPLAS.
This pioneering project sees AMUT as the main player in the development of the treatment and washing technology of the POAL, as well as the extrusion line for the production of the final material in granules.
It is a “close the loop” case history based on the process to turn waste material recovered from the landfill into consumer product through different phases. Post consumer aseptic liquid packaging containers, are processed by a paper mill for cellulose recovery. Afterwards, this material in form of commingled bales of POAL (Polyethylene & Aluminium Polycomposite) is ready for high technology friction washing, with the patented AMUT Friction Washer, in order to reduce paper fibres and finally granulated by the extrusion line. EcoAllene green material pellets, resulting from POAL is subsequently extruded. It can be even thermoformed and is suitable for profile extrusion and injection molding. EcoAllene foils are thermoformed to produce eco-friendly containers with the state-of-the art ACF600 series machine.
