Thanks for the walkabout, Marshall. I've lived in Makati before. I've lived in Manila - in the Malate area - and, of course, had driven to Makati, for many a time, too. But I've never been to those small - alley areas. I enjoyed this vlog very much. ..... To the north? Any interest in visiting the former volcano, Mt. Pinatubo? It'll really be an adventure getting there - riding on a vehicle on mountains of rough road that once was lava, but has then turned to lahar. Then there's the walk. I think it would be worth it. The view at the crater is breathtaking. Anticipating on your next vlog, mate.

Nice little vlog adventure: did you ever find that coffee shop to which that the random local referred you? It appeared not: par for the course in the Philippines. You did manage to pass by an old gf's apt at 5:53 at the corner of Gen Luna and P Burgos. Thanks for that. Good luck on your adventure up north to Illocos del Norte. Remember though what happened to many a vlogger that didn't appreciate the seriousness of this pandemic; they got stuck somewhere. That happened to a vlogger who got stuck in Palawan with a guy she hardly knew, but they found love and happiness. So, being stuck somewhere can work out in the world of vlogging.

I just discovered that what is now known as Poblacion was an area where we used to live for a couple of years when I studied High School in San Beda. It has, of course, changed quite a lot. Our home was where Makati Avenue ends up at JP Rizal. I think the homes that were there had been demolished to make way for a bridge that takes you into Mandaluyong, on the opposite side of Pasig River. I've never revisited the area as I no longer have the patience when it comes to dealing with Manila traffic. I've mostly become a tourist each time I visit the Philippines. But, thanks for being the inveterate traveller that you are.

Nice video of Makati. How I miss the Makati vibe! I used to work in an English academy along Kalayaan near Copacabana and at Dela Costa Ave. (Am now in North America.) Used to be a really crowded place and so alive at night. There's is a Spanish restaurant there called Alba, not sure if it's still there, quite pricey but the beef salpicao and paella tasted good. She said that dish is Pork Binagoongan which means pork with bagoong, bagoong being shrimp paste. You're right, the Taal eruption was the beginning of the bad times, fortunately, things are getting better, cases are going down and restrictions are being eased. The places to see in the North besides Baguio are Sagada, Vigan, Batanes, etc. But it's up to you. North Luzon is underrated in my opinion because all the foreign tourists go to our beaches and islands.

Spicy food for breakfast? I'd think you're in India if not for me knowing that you're in Makati. Lol. I remember that day in 2020 when Taal Volcano erupted. I was in an Indian grocery store in Manila going nuts (in a good way) over the smell of the spices, and hating the taste of 7-UP with cumin seed extract . And I agree with you, this pandemic is a total blindside to most of the population in the world.

If you're planning to go all the way north and to the tip of Luzon island, you might as well go further up to Batanes and see the place yourself, if or when it's open for tourists. In my opinion, the most beautiful and the best island in the Phl., better than Palawan which was voted and recognized as the best island in the world twice (for 2019 and 2020) or maybe three times. Boracay also was once recognized as the best island in the world, which I disagreed because for me, lots of other islands in Phl. like Romblon, Siargao or Mindoro would and should be better because they have a lot more than just beautiful white sand beaches, and not expensive. What was the criteria for voting back then?
