SW broadcasting has almost died. The once mighty BBC, for instance, has no broadcasts to anywhere in the Western hemisphere. And virtually everything else in the SW spectrum that's voice is SSB, which will sound like Donald Duck. I'd suggest looking around for a used and better radio. @@OM0ET It is a really good radio with a great sensitivity to receiving signals on all bands. What I didn't like is that it has no squelch on HF & VHF and BFO on HF to receive SSB signals, it has squelch ONLY on air band and CB band. When a constructor adds frequencies at which stations are transmitted to an SSB mode, it must keep that in mind. This shows that they are not concerned with RF. It also has no FM mode in the CBs that are now allowed and everyone is talking. However is good radio, I have received transponders without its antenna at 50-60 km.
