I do a lot of logging in the woods here every year. The rope saw is more for hard to reach branches you need to prune. Pruning green wood with them is lots easier than dry. They're also good for removing high broken branches (AKA widow makers) so you don't have to do your chainsaw work below them when dropping a tree. Rope saws work way better with two people so you can get long pulls using the full length of the actual saw. You gave that log a good try though! 👍
