Just received my pocket compass set. Well done. Someone should have come out with these years ago. Not that a trammel is new but this is a flawless approach. It will take a bit to get used to swinging the beam but that is my issue not the designer/maker. Smooth slide on both the large and small. Thank you Woodpeckers for another great and long lasting tool in my kit.

I'm not a carpenter or cabinet maker or anything however my jobs requires cutting gasket material foam board etc and several woodpecker tools would make things alot easier. This is a perfect tool for making seals or gaskets or really any circular material because it's a simple quick adjustment for inner and outer diameter markings for cutting vs trying to draw a outline and make it accurate

I finally received mine today and it is nice but I firmly believe it's not 1 inch increments...if they are then about every tape measure I've ever seen has been wrong

Justin, the scale reads in diameter, not radius. 1" on the scale is actually 1/2".

@WoodpeckersLLC perhaps so however going forward maybe that needs to be explained in a video also I'd recommend making the holes larger to accommodate different marking materials for example I use a 2mm lead holder or deep reach carpenter pencil or ultra fine tip sharpie and depending on the material because I bought this In the hopes of marking stuff other than wood such as gasket sheets and a small mechanical pencil lead just isn't durable enough. Not every carpenter is a cabinet maker or high end stuff so a little versatility isn't going to hurt.

I recommend selling spare points. That's the kind of thing I'd always order at the same time as the tool, especially when a one-time tool.

I love woodpeckers product, quality and class but definitely not for your regular "home/diy'er", "weekend warrior" or "naptime crafters" of which I am all 🤣🤦‍♀️. Love just "window shopping" until I'm making some money tho lol

With all the extra space in the plastic enclosure for the set, you'd think Woodpeckers could include a mechanical pencil like the one shown in the video. There's a perfect space for it right between the two compasses.

I bought that pencil and the mechanism inside jammed and broke within 2 days. Probably the reason they quit making it. Also, it wasn't very good anyway, the lead that came out broke too easy because it wasn't supported by a thin metal tube.

It would be nice to mark out a circle and not have a hole in the center from the tool, there’s got to be a way around this

Double-faced tape and a thin piece of scrap at the axis point works.

Or you could just put some water and iron out the hole as long as you didn’t dig it in deep.
