I carry a 6"/150mm steel rule in my overalls pocket...far more practical for a fraction of the cost. Would be more useful if it had a Vernier scale. Cheers, Allan

It's cute, but it needs a vernier scale. without it it's an expensive fidget toy. A vernier will let it measure to 0.05mm, and you can get a stainless 50mm non-digital vernier that will do internal, external and depth measurements for about £20 or 25$.

That might be past my level of expertise. I think the stainless or maybe even aluminium option might be nice too. Hopefully they might read through these comments

Personally, considering what this is likely to be used for I wouldn't be too bothered about the accuracy but it would have been nice to have a few other features of Vernier calipers. If they'd extended the back of the body so it was flush with the end of the arm when retracted you'd be able to use it as a step gauge. They could also have included arms above to take internal measurements but that would detract from its pocketability. Edit: As it is I see this being useful for checking the diameter of a bolt thread or the head of a bolt/nut. You don't need super asccurate measuments as you know it'll either line up with a mm measurement or an inch measurement. With a step gauge, which as I mentioned they could easily have added with minimal changes to the design, you could also measure how much your knife sticks out from the body (i.e at 04:40 where you're measuring the thickness of your knife you can see the back of the blade sticking out a few mm)

Did you get an original M65 yet?

No vernier scale?
@MoorlanderEDCАй бұрын
Is that the fake teeth that people have? My engineering expertise may be lacking here
@nickdsnikАй бұрын
@@MoorlanderEDC No, its another scale with graduations that line up every 10th of a millimeter so that you can measure to a better accuracy.
@MoorlanderEDCАй бұрын
@nickdsnik aaaaaaaaah... I was way off. Is there a mechanical rationed wheel needed for that to allow the smaller measurements? I'm guessing they went for easy of manufacturing
@nickdsnikАй бұрын
@@MoorlanderEDC No wheel needed just another scale.

My first thought. This is a deal breaker for me. I don't see any reason not to have them other than ignorance or a lack of confidence in their manufacturing. In either case, they have no business selling calipers.

Its pretty cool but that price.

Leatherman tools have a 4 inch ruler and mm. Pass

Why not just carry a tape measure Moorlander 😂
@MoorlanderEDCАй бұрын
Lolz, I carry an old school haberdashery measuring tape. It's a 60" tape. I keep it in a Ranger Band and have it in my tech pouches. In fact I have several of them

Mehhh, I do not see real utility for these. It is a no for me => more a nice pure and expensive gadget than useful tool

That looks like of the most useless tools I’ve seen and to made it out of titanium is a ridiculously poor material choice it adds nothing.
