I completely "get" your explanation about how overwhelming a planner can be when you are managing anxiety. I agree with your reasoning to just stick to what you actually need, so to simply have appointments on one side and to-do's on the other side is perfect, when your anxiety is high. I hope you enjoy your new set up and it meets your needs.

I use my moleskine pocket weekly in my de-ringed black holborn pocket and I have one string of elastic in the middle (where the ring holes are) which I put a passport TN zipper pocket in to hold papers etc and then the Moleskine trimmed down in the right side pocket and then I have personal size inserts like trackers and lists placed length ways in the big back pocket. It has worked for me x

Wow, I had not related to a planning video so much until now. Being a person dealing with anxiety as well, weekly planners are the best thing. Daily planners/detailed planning are too overwhelming. I was about to move to a daily one in the past weeks for 2023, but I am happy I did not do it. I would be repeating items in the to-do list from day to day because it's too overwhelming for me to have long lists daily. Anyway... thank you so much for this video!

Just be true to you Sam❤️❤️! I switched back to a pocket planner once school ended and I retired this year. Yay! I fell for this 'week-on- one-with-notes' format last year in an A5 Leuchturm and am now using same in A5 Filofax, but it's not exactly portable in rings. The format works really well for me as I don't decorate or have loads of trackers etc and I think is my 'happy place'. Trackers are great and can be useful, but not if keeping up with them is increasing your anxiety! Much love from 🇬🇧

@laurie25533 жыл бұрын
I just ordered one of these Pocket Moleskine's to try out. The only thing I'm not sure about is the paper; it's pretty thin, but I am not big on decorating, so it may be ok. Good luck to you, I think a more minimalistic approach is sometimes needed. A planner should either leave you with less stress, or not cause a change to your stress level, but certainly not add to it. It looks like the weeks inside, and I like that layout - daily on the left and to do on the right.
@samplans3 жыл бұрын
I adore the Weeks in theory. It’s the PAPER! I don’t think I’m ready to give it up entirely, but mostly because I have some covers that I love. But I have something else that may compete with it as a “memory” planner for next year. I appreciate the Weeks most when I can sit down and write everything at once. The Moleskine paper is thin, but feels like butter and I love it.
@loreedavis95923 жыл бұрын
I use a pocket-sized, dated Moleskin in my Van der Spek pocket TN. So lightweight but can hold many other notebook-type thingies, too. I’m a minimalist as well, so don’t need much. But I could stuff it if I wanted too. No limits, lol!

I feel you on the Tomoe River paper. It’s beautiful paper but I hate the smearing. However I am using the Hobonichi Weeks because I hate drawing in calendars sooooo much. I guess I’m using it in spite of the TR paper, also I just use ballpoint. just recently switched over to an A6 Leuchtturm (which is actually smaller than a true A6 anyway )for my bullet journal and I couldn’t be happier. I would love to be all in one book, but I just don’t see it happening. There are some smaller Japanese Nolty calendars I’ve been eyeing, but may just stick with the weeks for 2022.

Not to add to your decisions, you could put the previous Sunday at the top slot of the week and use the entire bottom for Saturday. Whiteout to the rescue. At least for a week or two to see if that helps. Now if I can only resist the temptation to follow you in this new move, like I did in previous years with the Pear Lime pocket Filofax. LOL. If you want to regain some pages in this planner, you can decide to cover the sheets you do not want to use, with other paper. Or you could decide not to use the whole 18 months and reclaim some of the later months for next year and use for other items you want to document. Be blessed not stressed.

Hey Sam, I like that your channel explores many things, and we get the details of your decisions, but even if you stuck with something for a long, long time...that would be good too. PS, I like pocket size and I just get the Fillofax inserts and I use FF dot grid blank pages in between each week for my lists. For me this is the simplest. Also I use another pocket filofax just for lists, as sometimes I don't need to carry my calendar at all, and I just want my lists. I take my required list out of one calendar planner and stick it in my lists FF and maybe throw in my cards and away I go, but I like pocket and mini sizes and no longer carry anything bigger than that. :)
