I was once stranded on a deserted Island with only a pocket monkey. I used it to build my home, bring down and process big game etc. I eventually used the pocket monkey to signal passing aircraft in Morse code using reflected sunlight but I wasn't sure if they saw the message. A week or so later, I realized that they had indeed gotten the message when they air-dropped a 2nd POCKET MONKEY. I eventually cobbled the two pocket monkeys together, -into a catamaran and sailed off to the island of chandelier where I currently reside with my wife Mavis.

Have found this tool incredibly convenient! Like the guy says in the video, you don't know it's there and suddenly I remember I have it and it's helped me out of a lot of jams. Worth every penny!

Have you tried running a black Sharpie over the engravings to make them easier to read? You can wide off the the ink on the surface and engravings will stay dark for a while.

Just a thought -- place the credit card [or substitute] barely through that long, wavy opening, with most of the credit card sticking out behind the monkey tool, but place it in portrait orientation. With the credit card acting as a long leg/prop in back, lean the phone in front of the monkey tool, also in portrait. Does it work?

You asked why you would want somewhere to wrap your earbuds other than the device on which you use them. Well, after my iPod died I started using my smartphone as my music player. Since I need to use my smartphone for so many other things (as a phone, first and foremost), it would be impractical to have earbud cords wrapped around it. I see a lot of people on my commute using their phones as MP3 players. Just a thought. Very informative review - thanks.
@TheNabob576 жыл бұрын
Im thinking about it for my phone. I am constantly; and I mean constantly losing earbuds. The small issue I might have is that if I wrap them around this, it won't fit in my wallet anymore. Perhaps I should put it in my shirt pocket. The bottle opener isn't really useful to me -- and the "screwdrivers" dont look good. The letter opener is my #2 reason for considering it.. but when I watched him use it to open a letter, it was very messy. It needs to be sharp to be useful -- if you are someone who flies alot I guess TSA compliance would make it a bit better. My #3 reason is ... the monkey. How cool. LOL

I JUST bought one yesterday. Ive not used it. Personally, I bought it via it's "novelty" not out of need or purpose. I honestly spent the $9.99 with the thought of buying myself a gift. Could I have done better yes. Why spend anything for something I would not use... Ask yourself this... Why buy anyone a gift, a useless gift... With the thought of ifs their birthday or it's at least a gift... Same concept. But, I have to add... I hardly ever buy myself a simple or cheesy gift. It put a smile on my face. 😊

I’m glad you enjoyed the GHB video! That was a fun one to put together. I am looking at it right now, as it sits under my desk at all times. BTW, thank you for protecting the city of Miami, Michael! Nice review, I've seen these and they look quite useful, and fun,... if I didn't already have a wallet tool I might be interested,... although there's no rule saying you can't have two (or a dozen, in my case, with flashlights :-) ). The flat edge (mine has a small, flat blade, so not TSA approved) really comes in handy for field repairs of snowboards. Carry a P-Tex candle, to fill in dings, then shave smooth. Us boarders like a bit of piste prepping too :-)

The reason why I personally would prefer not to wrap my headphones around my music device is because, my phone is my music device and just because I'm not listening to music doesn't mean I want to cover my screen. That being said, I don't see why I would want to wrap it around my multi tool either since. . . then I wouldn't be able to use my multi tool . . . or have it in my wallet. idk that's just me

Robert Rustenbeck I was hoping someone would notice and comment on the new EDC pen I’ve been using. It’s the inexpensive yet very functional Zebra SL-F1 Mini Ballpoint Pen. I absolutely love it! Since I always have my wallet with me, this little pen worked perfect for my needs. I like Zebra pens in general but this one is becoming my favorite due to its convenient size and storage. nice review. I have the wallet ninja and a cheap generic one bought from China. The wallet ninja is better looking but true be told the cheap Chinese one is more practical. The wallet ninja also features an unusable card holder.

NorthIrishPrepper The cheap Chinese ones that I've had are always WAY too thick for comfort. It feels like I am sitting on a lead bar.
@engineeredlifeform10 жыл бұрын
TheUrbanPrepper I have the cheap chinese version, and the thickness is a bonus, for laughs I bound it to a thickish stick with paracord, then used it to chop some other pieces into kindling. Mine has a saw section which is perfect for making a groove in the piece of wood you want to use as a handle. I have another one in my BoB so I can make a hatchet in an emergency.

i dont understand why they put bottle opener on multi tools,,,, you can open a bottle with everything
@TheUrbanPrepper10 жыл бұрын
***** True. I think it is more of a convenience thing. You could say the same thing for a spoon. Sure, you could use a food container lid instead, but having a spoon takes much less effort and doesn't require any kind of skill. Just my thought... :)

Great video :) I always believe we should be willing to pay a higher price on handcrafted products with a face behind them, over the faceless sometimes cheaper China made alternatives. 11-13 bucks most people waste in on junkfood in a day. So I wouldn't call this expensive. Thanks for sharing.
