Hi Rice, would you happen to know if I plan on playing an event at the orleans summer series do I need to sign up for a players card before hand appreciated

I played a ton of tourneys at Orleans in March-April. I don't believe you need a card, just an ID, but I would definitely recommend getting a card to help you build up comps. It's super easy to get, there's a Boyd Rewards booth on the main entrance side of the casino, the side facing south.

Spoon Food - bring up an interesting question....On what day of the week are the most runs scored on average per game? This could vary by year depending on the various rules changes and era of play, but still curious.

Feel bad for those players. They come all this way to play that tournament just to have to sit in uncomfortable banquet chairs. You would think they could have found a better room in Vegas.

The guy I played cash with in April said it's always there. I don't recall seeing it in years past though.

6 pocket pairs in 1.5 hrs is a lot. Usually if you get a fast dealer, you get at most 25 hands per hour. So you got 37 hands in 1.5hrs. The odds of getting a pocket pair are 1:17. So technically you should've gotten 2 pocket pairs. I guess variance was on your side.

You were dealt 4 x pocket pairs in just over an hour?! I don’t think that’s ever happened to me before. Assuming circa 20-25 hands - that’s a crazy high frequency.

It's exactly a 1 in 17 chance of being dealt a pocket pair. Simple probability question. You get dealt a first card and then there are 3 out of 51 remaining cards that will give you a pocket pair. There are few other scenarios in hold'em where the odds of something are a nice exact whole number.
