I like how this game is compatible via link cable with the GBC game Pocket Puyo Puyo Sun. Not many GB games had backwards-compatible multiplayer with their previous releases like that - the only other one I can think of is Pokémon Gen 2. I also love how you can play multiplayer with a single cartridge if you have a Super Game Boy and two SNES controllers. This game made very good use of the technology of the time!

Tales Limes 1 had color, and was actually SGB enhanced. PP2 isn’t enhanced afaik, but it works way better, even with an OG Game Boy

The game is better as a whole than the first GB effort. For one, it is easier to tell the different Puyo's apart now, the first game was next to impossible unless played on a Super GB which Puyo was which as on an original handheld, it was tough to tell the Puyo's apart as all the shapes just about looked the same (which they aren't). In this second game, the Puyo's are all the same shape, but have different shades of color if played on a system capable of color, and even on the original GB it is easy enough top tell them apart.

The Game Boy port of Tsuu and 1 makes me wonder how a Famicom or FDS port would end up like for both games (based off the Arcade version for 1)
