I recently purchased the Nicoletta Ceccoli deck in mini form and just love it. I find the guidebook is very different from my other tarot guides in what is said about the cards. I've been translating the Italian instead of using the English and love the shades of meaning that comes through by doing that.

I have used the Gill Tarot for years. I love it for its profound readings. Mine came, years ago, with a full-sized paperback book which increased its value to me.

Arg, I just love mini decks so much. My pocket Next World gets more play than my og version. I really look forward to hearing how you get on with it. I got halfway through the A Year in the Wildwood workbook last year and tomorrow marks the day I need to pick it back up again if I want to finish it (I remember putting it aside last year and can't believe how quickly it's swung around again). I can't believe a deck that is about the ecology of the planet has AI art, which is so detrimental to the environment! And that's before you get to the samey art, lack of titles on the majors or the plain backs. It's such a shame when an eagerly anticipated deck disappoints so much. Where does one get these vouchers you speak of? Are they discount codes or are you referring to gift cards? Just looking to save some pennies 'cos I'm a bear of limited means. x

Great haul. So many nice summery decks. I love the shuffle of the mini decks but sometimes I have to take a photo of the guide book so I can read it because the print is so small. That Ai deck looks like a handful of bookmarks! Sorry that happened. That makes me hesitant to try kickstarter. Yesterday I found the old version of Tarot of the Moon Garden in a used book store and I bought it. It is so cute! The new one has a better guide book for sure. I have Lo Scarabeo’s Tarot of Mermaids coming today. 🧜‍♀️ . I also bought a universal guidebook this week called Tarot for Self Care. It will be nice for these softer decks.

omg i love the pocket archetypes!! The Gill Tarot was popular on YT for a bit maybe 6 years ago? But it definitely died out. It was out of print for a while. I have a video I filmed on it recently as I acquired it not too long ago as well I'd love to know what you think!

It’s just a different medium. It’s interesting (to me) because of the process of coming up with the word prompts. But it is not in the same category of traditional illustration, imo. The process is just too different. I will always prefer the human element present in the physical creation of an art piece.

The idea of the Grounded Wisdom tarot is so cool but it was so disappointing in the end. Sigh. At least the ongoing minis trend is cute and affordable!

What a wonderful intro, experience and honest opinion on your experience of each deck. As a lover of pictures/art, joyful and cute, tarot and oracle are great. May I suggest the reading of perhaps one card per deck. Next to visuals, beautiful words are also important .. and that would be an added level to discern the quality of the decks. Keep going, I love your reviews. Well done!

Tipsy shopping LOL I get in trouble shopping sober let alone adding alcohol XD Grounded Wisdom.... yikes. There were things I really loved about it but there were a lot of things that I had doubts about so I ended up passing. The titles were a big issue for me with as abstract as it was in the first place. I am glad I opted not to listening to other peoples comments and discussions.

So the good news about those awful backs on the Grounded Wisdom tarot is that you can easily chop those teeny tiny titles off the bottom of the cards, round the corners, and create a brand new oracle deck. 😂

Nice haul! I don't blame you for being disappointed. I saw (probably Sylvie) someone else with a very similar experience. That really sux when the one deck you invest in, wait for, have hopes of a fun time, and it fails so hard. Ugh. I feel you. You got a bunch of gems, tho. Ceccoli is fabulous. Gill is not exactly Thoth, but it does use some of the keywords. Moon Garden is gorgeous artwork, I like the new edition. Next World is a deck of a different caliber. I would play with it for a little while. It's best savored, like a fine box of chocolate. And the jump down the Ceccoli rabbit hole. We'll wait for you there..

Ooof I'm glad I didn't back the Grounded Wisdom, I was very interested in it at some point. What a bummer it turned out like that :( Coincidentally I also got the Nicoletta Ceccoli (in my case the mini edition) a few days ago after almost a year of indecision and I'm so glad I did; like you said, it's one of those decks that's much better in person than on the screen and extremely evocative, definitely a gem.

The Mystical Forest Tarot was an impulse buy and a miss for me personally. I was bummed because it's soooooo pretty. I hope you love it because it deserves it! Daaaaaaamn, that Kickstarter is a bummer. Those backs?? The AI?? Yikes. The concept really is so clever and they seemingly phoned it in through and through.

As far as Tarot of the Moon Garden, I use it specifically in the spring for garden planning. It represents all of the possibilities inherent in the new seasonal year. ❤ I could see it working for the start of any creative endeavor truly. Mystical Forest Tarot seems like a phenomenal dupe for Dessert Illuminations... Which I might be tempted to buy if U.S. Games doesn't hurry up and print already, lol. I was massively tempted by Grounded Wisdom but didn't back because I couldn't tell from the campaign if the minors had titles. I'm sorry to hear of your experience. The concept is such a cool one, so I can truly imagine your disappointment!

Wow that kickstarter back change and the use of AI not being disclosed sucks majorly. Just with u mentioning mini decks, light seers and a small white cats one might have crept into my collection this yr. (The Zodiac in a tin keeps calling to me from amazon I was so annoyed that the cats who rule world small deck was a fake. (Thats twice ive ended up having issues) Thelema deck will be my unicorn. I might have needed a pick me up or 2 this week, so glad i waited on the star maiden as it was originally £35, i had been temtped but didn't, but now its on it's way to me. Goddess oracles are what im drawn to atm, have the Goddess Oracle on its way, and i saw a couple of books mentioned which i might have pulled the plug and ordered, but hadn't gotten any tarot books so will be good for my practise. Have seen two celtic goddess oracles and saw another tarot content creator mention how one paired so well with wierd sisters so I wondered what ur pairing with wierd sisters atm? I need to work on pairing some of my decks, although i have my shadow work deck and oracle paired so that makes me happy

I've been hesitating over the Wild Wood for *years.* I think it's two things; first that it's a knock-off of the Greenwood; second, that I am not a huge fan of the art style or Mark Ryan's takes on things. I think I might be a bit of a contrarian 😅

Mini decks are the best! I do appreciate a mini oracle; I hope it becomes a trend. I had the same reaction to the Grounded Wisdom Tarot. I normally only back decks that show completed artwork, but I made an exception with this deck. Lesson learned 😒

Pocket decks are great twofold 1 - size is very convenient 2 - cheaper price, may make a deck you are unsure of less of a risk to buy Grounded wisdom - coulda been great, but it wasn’t

Yeah, I expect there to be adjustments but removing the whole tarot back is a pretty major change, and after they've taken everyone's money too. I am glad I got a copy of the Ceccoli!

The Gill is awesome it was OOP for a very long time. I love ot bit the cardstock is difficult to shuffle for me. The Wildwood is my favorite deck in the world. The book is good and the keywords are very good❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Re the Gill, the bigger guidebook is available in Kindle format, and if you can find a print copy, it’s awesome. The Gill Tarot was a complete surprise to me, I absolutely love it!
