Problem with flexible ring will be case screws and movement staying secure

Thanks Sonny. Yeah, so in order to absorb shocks the watch has to connect only with the ring. And the ring has to do the job of holding everything in the case. I have designed the ring to do this - but testing will reveal if I have been successful. Let's see.

Question: My 1909 Illinois Watch Co. 18s 19J has its case crown knob has the top knurls worn off, i.e. hard to wind. Do you know where to get a replacement? Thanks

Generally you have to search for crowns on Ebay. But you have to worry about thread compatibility, so you might have to buy a bunch and try a few. But this is the kind of problem I want to solve with this case - no more digging around on Ebay for worn-out case parts.
