Michelle, isn’t it awesome when your students do well on a quiz. Makes you feel better about your teaching. I know what that feels like, and I think we get better once we have been in a grade level consistently and had a chance to teach with the curriculum. You are an amazing teacher! I love learning new things from you. Can’t wait to try the morning meeting.

Yesss! I definitely feel a lot better this year than last year now that I have had a chance to teach the curriculum for a year. Now I already know what misconceptions my students might have and can address it sooner. I also have more resources to pull from and more ideas for intervention! I hope your students love morning meeting as much as I do!

Morning meeting is the BEST part of our day. I figured with Kindergarten is would be hard to manage but it starts our day off in a loving and community filled way that makes my heart happy. I can definitely notice a change in their behavior the days we don’t have it.

Michelle if you are wanting to get things for the sensory bin I know that when I get nervous or stressed out and upset anything squishy sometimes fabric or something with a pattern I can feel and play with helps me calm down. Another thing I absolutely love when I get upset or stressed is to color, your students may not be able to use the adult coloring books yet but that’s what I use a lot, anything I can draw on or color on helps

I teach in Southeast Texas and we are able to choose our date to have our observations. Walk throughs are always a surprise but only last abut 10 minutes. It's funny that you talk about what you county expects. We don't go by counties here. We go by our town or city school district. Just find that interesting that you and another vlogger I follow always talk about your county. :-)

+Pocketful of Primary Michelle , Make Morning Meetings a law at least in your classroom . If nothing else gets done at least always do Morning Meeting . If any other lesson that you teach goes out that Morning Meeting is one of those things that will always take you places with students . Also I believe that it should be law that every classroom has a calm down spot and calm down tool kit . In my view that calm down kit is a long time coming . With that said , I am super glad that you were able to relax and have a fantastic birthday and seeing how much your students love you and that is the most important thing because when you have the love of your students everything else will get worked out and come together in the end . By the way , where did you get those rainbow drawers of yours in your classroom from ? With that said , it's almost like you look good in almost anything . You look good in dresses and boots , like … anything . Keep on smiling !! " Keep Moving Forward ". - Walt Disney - Dwight

So we have a sensory toolbox also. We use it as like a checkout system because stuff has come up missing. So we have printed all of the names and put it where our box is and they write the number coresponded with each tool which is on a little sheet taped near the check out list. And they check it out. That prevents stolen items and people taking them as a toy. We also have a time limit of how long they can have it (15-20 min) because that seems to be a good time span. But you might not have to put a time limit.

I've started a sensory bin/fidget kit in my classroom, but am having so much trouble managing it. I've had 3 of those marble things break and one of my spiky balls disappear. Right now, I'm in charge of handing out the fidgets to kids I think need them, which isn't what I want to do, but I think it's best for the moment. I can't wait to see how you implement it; maybe it will give me some better ideas.

Hi Michelle! I am a Junior Elementary Education student and I've been watching you from the beginning! As I get closer to having my own classroom I've been trying to bookmark all of the cool teaching websites and programs that I see. If possible could you maybe link them all in the description or do like an updated "what types of programs do I use". Like for that website where they had all the apps together or things like that! I want to integrate a ton of cool new technology into my student teaching and future classroom and I'm so inspired by the things you do!

I used to be a huge fan of nearpod and actually paid for the subscription. I used it for years. What I found is that it didn't' integrate super well with how I wanted to customize. I would really suggest you using Peardeck. Its free (there is a paid version) and it does the same thing and is integrated into slides. I found more success with it. I also like to use quizalize.
