I tried amigurumi for the first time with this tutorial, and I am a complete beginner at crocheting, but I was able to follow this tutorial perfectly! The time put into the subtitles helped me keep track of where I was, you went slow for people to see exactly what you're doing, and the steps were easy to follow. Took a few hours for me to make because I'm so new at it but I had fun and now I have a little buddy, and I plan to make more for my friends :3

I'm a little confused on row 8 (the part with sc 22 tsl and chain) Does the 22 sc go into the slip stitch from the previous row or into the chain from the previous row. Same with the TSL. Does that go into the chain from the previous row or the first chain for row 8?

i know this is really late, but i hope you see this since i had a question on the arm part. when you go to finish off the arm with a slip stitch, do you go into the front loop of the next stitch or the stitch that you started the arm in? thanks and this squid is very cute!! ❤️
@PocketSushiCrafts

Yeah, well... I don't know but if you do SC9 INC and SC9 INC there you get 22
@crazy4five
@crazy4five 3 жыл бұрын
I made the same mistake becuase he says to repeat but it's not a repeat. It's, 4 single crochet then 1 increase then 9 single crochet ( He says 5 then 4, no increase after the 5 singles) then 1 increase then 4 single crochet, then 1 increase which gives you a total of 22.
@123-f3g
@123-f3g Жыл бұрын
@@crazy4five doesn’t that give you 23 ??
@crazy4five
@crazy4five Жыл бұрын
@@123-f3g I think it's actually 24? I can't remember but my comment says 4 single + 1 increase counts as 2 single. So that's 6 total, plus 9 singles = 15. One increase=17 +4 single=21 plus an increase=22 but I recounted it & I'm sure you are right about it equalling 23. Now I don't remember if it really was 23 or I made a mistake in my comment & it was 22? Sorry, I also can't math so don't trust me.

Great explanation! Is it possible for you to maybe do the time lapse videos like this at some point as well? Either way it's good and continue on as you see fit. Subscribed not to long ago. I personally think the Takoyaki and the Sushi's are the cutest.
@PocketSushiCrafts
@PocketSushiCrafts 6 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I will get to some of the timelapse ones eventually. It's just easier to do timelapses instead of tutorials, haha!
@angelinawang7927
@angelinawang7927 6 жыл бұрын
Pocket Sushi Yeah you don't need to explain the steps as it would be to fast to even follow. But you could see the time lapse ones as if they are some kind of preview for future potential tutorials. (Suggestion: Write the simple form of how many stitches you need as a subtitle (2sc in every second stitch or 2sc, sc, repeat and then how many stitches there should be at the end). It would be easier to remember as they would only need to look at the subtitles in case they forgot .)
@PocketSushiCrafts
@PocketSushiCrafts 6 жыл бұрын
Quite true! Unfortunately I sell the patterns in written form, so I don't feel comfortable writing the shorthand in the subtitles.

I’ve made this squid twice now and I keep running out of room for all the arms. I wonder if I’m adding to many slip stitches in between? Or maybe I’m skipping stitches because I’ve only being doing 2 slip stitches in between the arms.
@PocketSushiCrafts
@PocketSushiCrafts 2 жыл бұрын
It should only be one slip stitch between each arm! The second slip stitch is the beginning of the arm and the entire arm is built upon that same loop. I hope that makes sense!

i had the same problem and what it was is that i was making the next slip stitch after a leg into the front loop on the next stitch, when i should have been doing the slip stitch in the same stitch that the chain for the leg started in. its only one extra stitch per leg but with eight legs and two tentacles, thats ten stitches i was losing. he says it very briefly in the video just once after he makes the first leg
