POCO F3 Screen Dimming and Touch Issues [MIUI 12.5 Update]

Despite all the hints and warnings on the internet, I ordered the poco F3 and sent it back straight away. The one with the 1200 nits brightness and the 120 Hertz display is just an annoying mess. As we all know, after the phone was released, the display dimmed even with the slightest load, so extremely that you could hardly see any content. After the alleged update it got a little better, but e.g. outside in the sunshine it starts to dim immediately, instead of getting an additional boost for brightening, as it should be. Then there is the 120 Hertz, because the entire system shuts down, switching to 60 Hertz. And then, despite the phone cooling down, don't go back to 120 Hertz. To do this, you have to tap on the already set 120 Hertz again. And that about ten times a day. One can only hope that this problem will finally be fixed with further updates!

Hi, in the min 1:11 we can see that the POCO F3 has a much darker display, however, that was before the update, can you please confirm if now with 12.5 the brightness is better than the Redmi 10x? Due to the POCO it's supposed to have a better brightness

Yes, with the 12.5 update, I have yet to experience the screen automatically dimming. It has brighter than the 10X 5G if not for the dimming before the update. If you look at my earlier video kzbin.info/www/bejne/iZ-kdo2dhsSAY6M at the 2:30 and 2:39 mark, the F3's screen is brighter before it dimmed compared to the 10X 5G.

@@TheMisadventuresofRoniG interesting, maybe is because a configuration of the colors or something with Genshin Impact, you should try it with the auto brightness off and other games, good videos!

I recently bought the Poco F3 out of the box the MIUI version is 12.5.1 then I updated to MIUI 12.5.2 after a week I received another update which is the MIUI 12.5.4, on the latest update I still experienced some dimming issue while playing NBA 2k20 on the latest update

@@TheMisadventuresofRoniG I think so, when I play genshin impact the screen will dim after 5 mins minutes of gameplay and the phone starts to heat up at the upper part because the SOC is located there, sometimes my display will go down to 60hz for no reason even I didn't change it to 60hz

have you updated to MIUI 12.5? try to switch off auto-brightness and also check Game Turbo settings > Game DND > Enhance experience > Turn off auto brightness.

The dimming is actually a safety feature when the phone overheats. Hopefully this will be resolved in future software updates. In the meantime you may try using a cooler and check if it helps control the dimming.

Yes, for me enough na yung 6/128 variant. Usual naman na nagpapapuno ng memory would be pictures and videos na you can always transfer naman either sa laptop or sa cloud if puno na yung phone. If you're worried about the 6GB RAM, it's more than enough for games. 😁

Mi 10T Pros main advantage over the F3 is the camera. Other than that, almost all specs lamang na ang F3, including price. Front cam of the F3 is actually good and is even better than the front cam of my Samsung A52. I've been using AMOLED screen for years and never experienced amoled burn.

Xiaomi usually updates MIUI for their phones for 4 years so you still have more than 3 years update for the 10T Pro.

Yes I do! I use BDO, BPI, Metribank, and GCash on my POCO F3 😁. For main camera, I'll go for the A52 pero for the selfie and macro cam, mas ok yung sa F3.

No prob naman with Xiaomi phones, been using their phones for years na rin. Maninibago ka lang siguro sa umpisa. Konti lang din naman naging adjustment ko from Samsung Note 10 to Redmi 10x. Sulit kasi talaga phones nila sa specs then madalas me discounts pa pag Lazada sale.

Never experienced any notification delay in usual apps like fb, messenger, whatsapp, viber. Had a problem once with Microsoft Teams but exempting the app from battery optimization fixed it. No problems with GPS as well, been using the phone for driving around the city and is pretty accurate.

Bakit yung poco f1 ko mas maliwanag compare sa poco f3, same brightness sila, latest miui version yung poco f3 while version 11.0.9 yung poco f1, may isang user din ako na nakausap na mas maliwanag din daw yung poco f1 nya compare sa f3(walang tg na nilagay), naka off ang auto brightness, naka fixed ang brightness nila parehas pero medyo yellowish yung screen ng f3 ko

Haven't experienced touch issues after the update. Watching movies (or any HD video for that matter) with the POCO F3 is superb with HDR10+ support. You could really tell the difference in terms of video clarity compared to my Samsung A52 5G.

The POCO F3 doesn't have the DC Dimming feature but before the 12.5 update, the screen dims when playing heavy games.
