Eagles and Poco regretted letting Randy left the band. He made the sound so special. And they realized it. He deserved more respect. The problems The Eagles had made him to left. So sad but the best choise he made for himself. He didn't like problems. Strong man to went his own way.

Such a great tune, the vocal harmonies at the end give me goosebumps. Poco were just amazing, two sides of the same coin as Eagles! That album from 1989 was on my turntable pretty much 24/7...amazing album.

I grew up musically with Poco, West Coast Rock and the Beatles. But somehow I missed a lot of the Randy Meisner period of Poco... This is an awesome sound with him joined by Richie Furay and Jim Messina and Rusty Young. My goodness this was very special.

If I remember the story correctly, Randy needed to contribute a song for the Hotel California album. He came up with Try and Love Again due to a pending divorce he was going through.

I would have gone to Clear Lake or whereever the closest one was. But I didn't even hear of those until only recently when I found old stories. So bummed.

He did. While he had a couple of good solo songs...it does seem to me he always did much better when he was with a group. Take It To The Limit, Try and Love Again, Tryin', Certain Kind of Fool...and this one. He had spectacular voice. I think his absolute best one was Try and Love Again. Musically, Lyrically, Vocally...near perfection.
Randy had top 40 hits on lead vocals with both Poco and Eagles. TTTL gets tons of airplay today still, but this top 40 hit never gets played. Great Randy ballad; right up there with TALA, and IIT.
