This was a nice find! Randy Meisner doing a solo album. Watched the Eagles doc from 2012 last night and was stunned by how Henley and Frey came across very egotistically and Randy has be be the sweetest and most laid back guy in the band. The history of the band sheds a whole new light on the members. I'm sorry Randy left so soon after Hotel California. His voice was priceless.
@donnadamusicloverfanatic594410 жыл бұрын
i got the vibe that Randy was not comfortable singing many of the songs they wrote that only Randy's amazing voice could pull off. Dont be so hard on Don and Glenn, they were the business guys in the band, someone has to be after all. Joe see totally fine to let them deal with all the business parts of the band. so did Tim. And Randy seem happy with all that too but the part about him not wanting to sing more songs that only Randy could sing........I think that was a compliment to Randys craft actually and Randy lacked the confidence in his own craft....Which is actually sad to look back what 40yrs later.......I love Randy...but i think he stood in his own way.....
@unamckillen71259 жыл бұрын
Donna Da Music Lover Fanatic I don't know quite hard to reply. I was not there but honestly they were "the business guys in the band" and sure still are. I am guessing The Eagles had managers, accountants to deal with that stuff. They started out 4 guys sitting on stools and ended up this massive, money making machine. At what point could poor Randy Meisner walk away? When he did, he had to, his sanity depended on it. His fellow band members had become bloated egotists with dollar signs in their eyes.
@donnadamusicloverfanatic59449 жыл бұрын
una mckillen I don't recall ever hearing Randy referring to himself as a victim of Don and Glenn but seems everyone wants to label him as a victim.. Randy would not have achieved the success he did without Don and Glenn....i don't think Randy had what it takes to achieve that success on his own. If he had the ability then why didn't he get it after leaving the band? Have we sunken so far in American society that when we cant label our selves a victims, now we go looking for more people to call victims when that person has never said they were a victim? I have never heard Randy say he is a victim here...Never...I don't think it is anyone's place to label him victim especially if he is not calling himself victim.
@unamckillen71259 жыл бұрын
Donna Da Music Lover Fanatic Did I label him a victim? No. I did not. I am not American anyway and I am not looking for possible litigants. I just liked Randy and thought he was badly treated by his fellow band members. I still think that although I appreciate he moved on. For that I am pleased. I think the success thing is more complex than you give it credit for. The Eagles started out as 4 folky guys sitting on stools. Randy was a core of that. Then they moved on: rock Gods inc. At that point Randy left, Bernie had already gone. The Eagles moved on to mega-success at mega-stadiums in a different world. Randy would not have called himself a victim but he was certainly left behind by the guys whose fame he helped make. His personal success after the band? that is a different question. He sang heart-breaking, lonely, on the road songs like the early Eagles but maybe the world had, as had The Eagles themselves, moved on from songs like that.

He sang “Take it to the limit” “Try and love again” which where huge hits for The Eagles, but what is overlooked is his high harmony’s on all the songs is what really made those catchy choruses from The Eagles sooo good.

Did he know how well liked and respected for his talent and music though, I hope he did while he was still alive because I'm sure that would have meant so much to him❣🌹RIP Randy Meisner🕊

It tells you how integral he was to the Eagles sound that this song comes off sounding like an Eagles original.
