Probably one of the best educational videos on ultrasound physics that I have watched. I am a masters prepared RN studying ultrasound to be able to assist my employees (I am director over cardiology and cath lab) with DVT studies. Thank you for taking the time to share this.

At 3:15, I think the horizontal axis should be distance instead of time when you demonstrate the concept of wavelength.

You said Amplitude = Power?? But how. Power is measured in mW and Amplitude is measured in MPa
@POCUSGeek4 жыл бұрын
Joyce - You are right Amplitude does NOT equal power but it has direct effect on power. That was what I was hoping to imply. Also I should point out that frequency has direct effect on power if I didn't state it in this video. If you'd like to read further on the relationship this is a good site: openstax.org/books/university-physics-volume-1/pages/16-4-energy-and-power-of-a-wave

I hope you will see this comment as this video is a couple years old now but I’m wondering why is it that higher frequencies not penetrate as far? Is it because there is so much more to interact with so the waves echo back to the transducer before they can penetrate deep? Thank you.
@POCUSGeek6 жыл бұрын
Yes you have it right, because of the short wavelength it is affected by all factors of attenuation (kzbin.info/www/bejne/qaauZKl_ocisoZY) over a shorter distance than a longer wavelength. That's also why you get better images though.

Thank you so much! I have my physics exam on Thursday so this definitely helps.
