I am a new born christian. I keep Sabbath day every week on Friday 6pm - sat 6pm . Such a wonderful time to get closer with god in our spiritual relationship

@@01Autentic not all who keep that Sabbath are SDA. I am a member of an Assembly of God and I keep the Sabbath. It isn't something that should be restrained to - oh you're from that denomination -. Take any other commandment. Do not bear false witness - that could include many denominations. Now I don't know to what group Ruban David belongs to but I'm just giving my perspective.

@@truthgrace5464 If Sabbath, keeping a special day was an issue and should have been issue (if it needs to be kept), it would have happened to be issues in various churches, and Paul would have to defend it as why it is necessary to keep sabbath (one holy day). Paul never dealt with the issue because they need not keep a special day. The revealed truth is that Jesus 1st coming has made 7 days to be kept Holy ie. Believing in Jesus so every day is the sabbath. In OT, it is observation, in NT, it is belief. the fourth commandment is super important as it points to Jesus. Because it gave the opportunity for Jesus by design to say, I am Lord of Sabbath to the Pharisees and to all, meaning I am God. I am the Messiah as David has indicated. However it is still good to do what you need to do as an AOG for a "Sabbath" Day. Because for most of us, every day is doing what we want to do and nothing about Jesus. So keep it up.

Clearest exegesis on Shabbat that I've heard, thank you. Here, in USA, it's remarkable how much disagreement and confusion there is over the Sabbath. Whenever we get bogged down on trying to understand even the most basic things in God's word and then God gives us the right understanding (through a teacher or personal revelation), I am always amazed how simple the answer is. Truly, we can do nothing without Yeshua.

@@fabiodutra8574 I'm sorry, but that's incorrect. Jews and Gentiles will always remain what they are. Romans 11: 1-2 (Jews) Romans 11: 13-21 (Gentiles). The Jews are God's firstborn and will always have a special place under His eyes. It doesn't make the Gentiles any *less* special though. Because we are all God's creation and as such, through Messiah, we are all saved. Romans 10: 11-13 and of course, your Galatians 3: 28-29 (in spirit and faith)

My brother, the scripture verses you mentioned just say that God do not reject Israel, by no means I meant that the Jews were rejected, the verse I quoted was very clear of what I meant to say, (Galatians 3: 28-29). We stop being Gentiles (which means Goyim, which means Pagans, because at that time only Jews had the knowledge of the word of God) when we obey the commandments and are faithful to the Messiah (Revelations 12:17 and 14:12), because we all will be part of the New Jerusalem. God make no distinction between you and a Jew (Romans 10:12), We shouldn’t make distinctions as well God is known as the God of Israel not the God of the Jews only, remember that all the other tribes were spread through the world, so you even might have Israeli blood and don’t know it, even if just spiritually speaking, isn’t that what really matter? Please read (Romans 2: 28,29) By this I don't mean that Jews are not important and special to God (Romans 3:1,2) and just to clarify, I am descendent of Sephardim Jew, I love them and all my brethren in the Messiah and remember the king of the universe is a Jew. First off let me say that I wholeheartedly agree with everything said in this video. It is lawful to do good on Shabbat. And while it is important to remember the spirit of Shabbat it is equally important to remember what the plain text of the scripture instructs us as well. I say this for the benefit of those brothers and sisters who are new to Torah or new to keeping Shabbat. In Leviticus chapter 23 Moses gives us the weekly Shabbat along with the 7 yearly moedim (feasts / appointed times). Like the seven-yearly moedim Moses tells us that the weekly Shabbat is a “Moed” of Yahuah (The Father). This word means an appointment to meet face to face or to be in the presence of. Moses also instructs us that this day is a “mikra”. This word means a set apart gathering. It also means a rehearsal. Shabbat is a day that Yahuah (The Father) says he will be present with us in a special way different from that of the other six days of the week and commands Yisrael (Those who are Yahshua’s) to gather together and recognize the day. Though it is a day to be with one’s family it is not simply a day to “hang out”with your family. And while we should be easing the suffering of the poor and sick and the stranger who is within our gates and our animals let us not forget that the command says that “We as well as our sons and daughters are to be refreshed also. How can we refresh others if we have not first allowed our Father who is in heaven to also refresh us? Yahuah bless and keep you all. Shabbat Shalom

I could argue the same thing simply by pointing out that the word fast isn't mentioned once either. The overall theme of this passage that I see is that we have freedom in Christ to eat what we want as well as regard certain days holy or more special or not. Paul is making two major points: 1. We are not to judge another's choice of food or how they regard a holy day and we are not to allow ourselves to be judged by others in the same way. (Col 2:16) 2. Even though we have freedom in these areas, we are not to use these freedoms as stumbling blocks when with brethren who are weaker in the faith. In such cases, out of love for our brethren, we are called to set aside our "liberty" temporarily so as not to cause our weaker brethren to stumble. For example, let's say a new believer comes to my church and this believer was a vegan all his life. His own concience may not be comfortable eating meat for various reasons. If I choose to share a meal with him, knowing the level of his faith, I should eat a vegan meal with him whether or not I have conviction that "all foods are clean."

There is no connection between the sabbath and the food in the bible. The sabbath is not about what we eat or not eat. I agree on what Paul say about not judging anyone and obviously the kingdom of God is not about food or drink. The followers of Jesus kept the 7th day Sabbath for about 300 years after the death of Christ, then several things happened in history with emperor Constantine wanting to unite the pagans which worshiped on Sunday with the Christians that worshiped on Saturday. To make a long history lesson short, between things happening with Constantine and the development of the Catholic church the 7th day Sabbath was officially changed to Sunday. The Catholic church is quite proud of this and call it the mark of their authority. You can look it up in any Catholic Catechism and they will fully admit that the Sabbath is on Saturday and that they changed it to Sunday. They do not try to hide this, in fact there are many articles put out by the Catholic church including a small booklet called Rome's Challenge , Why Do Protestants Keep Sunday? which is a series of articles put out by the Catholic Mirror that is basically laughing at Protestants who claim to follow the Bible and the Bible alone when they happily follow Sunday which is a change that they made based on their authority and the whole world follows which is a change that cannot be found in the Bible. I highly encourage you to look it up, it will change your life.

I am currently taking a Scriptures Course with a Jewish man from Jerusalem. Very much to learn about the heart of God. I believe the verses are numbered differently from the NKJV Bible. My teacher says that we must learn to read Hebrew because the English NKJV Bible has changed the translation. That is why many are questioning the English translation. Not meaning to change anything but help people to understand the Scriptures! I am old and if I can learn Hebrew I will have a 3rd language! If I may, everyday is good to preach the good news of Yashua but there is only one day that he has blessed and commanded for us to rest every week and that is the seventh day Shabbat. I keep the Sabbath as a Christian, but one question still bug me : when is the real Sabbath? I have found that Rabbi tradition were following Sabbath according to lunar cycles. Was this lunar Sabbath a creation inspired by the Babylonian period (aka Talmudic?) or was it the right way to follow Sabbath? In our non agricultural crazy world, it is easier (and practical) to follow Saturday as Sabbath, but it is the right one?

Sabbath was, as other things in the Old Testament - a shadow of the things to come. God rested on 7th day and thus OT Law was commanding the same. Lord Jesus Christ said: 28 “COME TO ME, all you who are weary and burdened, AND I WILL GIVE YOU REST. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” God has become rest for our souls. The oldness of the letter/law is the law written in stone and men trying to keep it in the flesh, but now through the spirit we can keep the rightousness of the law, because we walk in the spirit (Romans 8:1-9), for the law is spiritual and holy and just (Romans 7:14). If the law is spiritual and holy, a holy and spiritual people can and will keep the law. Too much miseducation in Christianity because some are carnal and resist obeying the commandments of God. It always amazes me that we say, yes, Christians should not worship idols, murder, lie, envy etc but pull brakes when it comes to keeping sabbath. 🤦🏾‍♀️ Remember Revelation 12:17 & Rev 22:14 "And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ." Do not be deceived into breaking the commandments of God and yes the Sabbath is part of the commandments, keeping it is the law of love actually, love towards God (dedicated day of meeting and worship with God) and love to our neighbors (freedom from work and cares, a time to help all those in need).

I've enjoyed your podcasts episodes... but there is a danger with this Sabbath keeping doctrine. The first church council in Jerusalem of Acts 15 did not include Sabbath keeping in their requirement to Gentile converts. Paul himself told the Colossians and Galatians that Sabbath and other holy days were not binding upon them. In that council Peter warned his brothers not to test God by "placing a yoke on the neck of the disciples that neither our fathers nor we have been able to bear...."

Hi, in Acts 15 the apostles said, let's write to the gentiles telling them to abstain from blood, and strangled meats, food offered to idols and fornication (all parts of the law) so as not to burden them with all these laws, why? Because it would be too much all at once. Vs. 21 For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day. Why is this said? Because the followers of Jesus assembled on Shabbat/sabbath to hear the word of God and the law. Therefore they will learn the law by that means. Plus, none of the 10 commandments are mentioned in Acts 15 for gentiles to keep/observe, will it then be right for us to assume that we can lie, steal, covet, dishonor parents, take God's name in vain, forget sabbath, because it wasn't mentioned in Acts 15? If we interpret the scriptures that way we would all be living sinful lives. Some laws do not apply now for example, all, if not most laws that partains to temple service (christ became the sacrifice) and circumsision because the new covenant is that he will put the law on our hearts, not on stone and we would keep the law by the spirit in rightousness. Please read the chapter in context and not to suit previous ideas about sabbath.

Paul in Acts 20 said to the elders at Ephesus that he had not neglected to declare to them the FULL council of God. Paul also wrote in Romans 14 that one day is special for one man and to another all days are the same, that each should be convinced in his own mind. In fact, he said that no one should judge another about food laws and sabbath keeping which were only a shadow but the object is Christ (Colossians 2). Acts 20:7 states that “on the first day of the week we came together to break bread.” This would be Sunday, correct? Which seems apt to meet and celebrate on the day that Christ arose and appeared to his gathered disciples. Also remember the whole point Galatians was written; as a polemic against "Judaizers" citing Peter as an example. The Law of Moses in question. Jesus is our Sabbath, He came to fulfill the requirement of the law for us. Yes, when we become Christians we have the law written in our heart. Hence Galatians 5:22 reciting the fruit of the Spirit being evidence of our regeneration. Keep Shabbat if it's your way to glorify God and to help you reach Jews, but you ought not to but it as a burden on Christians.

Colossians 2: 13, 14 refers to the handwriting of ordinances that was against us. Let's see which one of the 10 commandments are against us. Don't worship other gods Don't worship idols Don't blaspheme Remember sabbath Don't murder Don't steal Don't lie Be faithful to your spouse Don't covet? None of these laws are against us, UNTIL we become GUILTY of breaking God's law, of which we are all guilty from birth. So the ordinances that was against us is that when we sin our punishment is death (because we transgress the law 1 John 3:4). Jesus blotted out our punishment for sin with his blood, nailing, taking our death on the cross. Now that christ has redeemed us no one can judge us according to the commandments/traditions of men. Yes, in Galatians the point was against the Jewish elders that followed the Jewish leaders that added to the law of God concerning meats, holy days, new moons and sabbath. Paul is saying let no one judge you in these matters according to their traditions (added laws by men). The laws are a shadow of things to come means when christ comes again the second time sabbath and other laws will be kept perfectly by all (Isaiah 66:23). Nowhere in scripture is it written that Jesus is the sabbath (who taught you that doctrine) although Jesus is all things to us, that phrase is not in scripture. However, Jesus does say that he is Lord /master of the sabbath and establishes it by teaching us that it is lawful (law-abiding) to do good on the sabbath day Matthew 12:12. The law was fullfilled when Jesus became the sacrificial lamb dying for the sins of the people. There is no command in scripture to gather on the first day of the week. Although the saints can gather and fellowship and break bread anyday of the week but that does not make those days the Sabbath. On the contrary, the sabbath was commandment and established at creation, Jesus kept it and the disciples and apostles kept it (acts 13:13-44) Men say the sabbath is a burden (some jews have made it a burden to people by adding laws like don't push a button in sabbath and many more) but God says, the sabbath is a delight (Isaiah 56:1-7) and God says he does not change. Who do I believe and obey, men or God? I believe the sabbath is a delight to all who are a new creature in christ. Sorry I had to say it in so many words, but it is necessary. 🙏🏾

@@greenbean4478 Not to worry, my own response was longer than I wished. Yes, according to Galatians the Law was a school-master to lead us to Christ, but that is ALL it could do. In Christ we die to the Law so that it no longer has any claim on us. We cannot again return to the "weak and beggarly " elements to be enslaved under law over again. In that context Paul wrote " Ye observe days and months and times and years. I am afraid for you,..." (Gal 4:9-11) But now, in Christ, we are ONLY subject to the "law of Christ" in loving God and one's neighbour. Hence Galatians 5:22 as the fruit of the new life. Galatians also refers to Mosaic law too, not just the Judizers. Paul makes a distinction between the slave Hagar (Mosaic Law) vs the free Sarah (New Testament/promise). "we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free." (Gal 4:31) James 2 teaches that the "Royal law" is fulfilled in loving one's neighbour. No hint of Sabbath-keeping. I'm sure you know that Jesus is described as "Lord of the Sabbath" in Matthew, Mark and Luke. Jesus asked us to come to Him and find rest in Him (Matt 11), which was the whole point of the Sabbath (Exodus 23:12). Jesus also said that " Sabbath was made for man and not man for the Sabbath" -Mark 2:27 Your view puts that in reverse. Jesus did what He wanted on the Sabbath: healing, making a man carry a bed, walking with His disciples who plucked corn...doing good. Not resting and being refreshed. //There is no command in scripture to gather on the first day of the week.// Ok, is there a command for Christians to gather on the seventh day? Plus our true mother is the new Jerusalem not the old because they who Jesus came to (his people in present Jerusalem), rejected him and are still in sin and darkness (under the punishment of the law). We are not under the law (punishment of the law) because we walk in the spirit after christ saved us from eternal death. The scripture says "... The weak and beggarly elements of the world" not the law. Even if it is refering to the law, it is referring to the law when we serve in the oldness of the letter Romans 7:6 " 5. For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death. 6.But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter. 7.What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet." We are to keep the rightousness of the law, which comes through Jesus Romans 8:1-6 The problem is the flesh/the carnal mind. I have noted that Exodus 23:12 says the sabbath is to rest and allow all to rest who dwell with you but there are many other places where laws concerning the sabbath is given Leviticus 23:3; a convocation means to assemble or an assembly a holy assembly (obviously to worship God) so the sabbath is for all to rest and gather together to worship God. Remember before there was the called out nation of Israel whom God gave his laws to there was people who followed God and it is not recorded all that they did. What is most important is that God rested on the seventh day and blessed and sanctified it (sanctify means to set aside for holy purposes). He set the example for all mankind. When you read Galatians 5:14 it should be read together with Christ's words in Matthew 22:36-40. On two commandments all laws are connected, those two commandments are to love God with all your heart, soul and mind. The second is to love your neighbour as yourself. On the tables of the 10 commandments the first 4 are mainly towards God although the sabbath was to teach us to extend mercy of rest to our fellow men as well. The last 6 commands are towards loving our neighbour. If you can read and understand James 2:8 you can also understand James 2:10-12. James is quoting from the 10 commandments obviously he won't repeat each command but he said, if you break one you break all on vs. 11's principle. Say on.

As a Christian Gentile, we are not obligated to keep the Law of Moses. All born-again believers (Jew and Gentile) are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. It is a gift of God, lest any man should boast. Please read Acts Chapter 15. The scriptures also command us not to judge others concerning the observation of a New Moon or Sabbaths. If you choose to observe it to the Lord, then observe it to Him. However, we are not to judge others for if and how they observe such things. Shalom.

I’m Ethiopian Messianic Jew and I always tell my Christian brothers and sister to keep Shabbat. Because the Western church Pastor always preach to not keep Shabbat because it’s for the Yahudi. I can remember going to a church as a young teen in a packed church hearing a pastor saying that. Mind you I’m wearing my Yarmulke as well as my uncle. The Catholic church fathers i believe may have messed things up a bit wanting to distance themselves from Jewish believers or Judaism more likely, but from Messianic Jewish perspective i want to know, which day do you guys observe Sabbath, (I'm not 7th Day Adventist), & not antisemitic..

AS A SEVENTH DAY ADVENTIST CHRISTIAN GENTILE, I BELIEVED THAT JESUS FULFILL THE 10 COMMANDMENTS BUT PUT A STOP TO CEREMONIAL LAW OF MOSES AND THAT IS SACRIFICING LAMB FOR CLEANSING OF SIN . JESUS TOOK THAT AS THE SACRIFICIAL LAMB AND DIED FOR HUMAN SIN. THAT IS HOW THE GENTILE CHRISTIAN INTERPRETATION OF DO AWAY WITH CEREMONIAL LAW OF LAMB SACRIFICING

No such thing as ceremonial and moral law, the mosaic covenant includes all the laws 613. The SDA church is a false church. Your church does NOT preach the full atonement on the cross, read fundamental 27 your church teaches that Satan is the scapegoat which takes away the sins.
