Hi Sandra. I absolutely love how the Ginny cardigan looks on you. I wasn't really in love with it when you dhowed the picture of the pattern. However...I think yours is gorgeous! You are too critical because it looks fine and really looks so nice. Your summer sampler is so pretty. Stitching doesn't have to be perfect. It is your signature in stitches so it is your own unique piece. That is what I tell my friends when I teach them. 😊 I am going to go look up the Christmas sampler to see how it looks. Looking forward to seeing yours. 🧵🪡🧶

Oh thank you so much! I must admit there was a time when I wondered if I even wanted it at all and if the colours would all be a bit much. ☺️ But luckily, now the struggles are over and it's all done I do feel happier with it again, thank goodness! The is very good advice and it is lovely how the same piece can look different, but in a good way! I will say my embroidery is a lot better than it was, so hopefully there is hope for my satin stitch yet! Practise makes progress they say, so the next one should help. ❤️❤️

Love your Summer embroidery project, I love Pretty Fabrics and Trims so many beautiful things! One tip for neat satin stitch is to stitch the outline first with a small split stitch and then stitch your satin stitch over that edge, start from the middle then work to one side, back to the middle then out to the other.
@janemarchant25583 ай бұрын
Hi Sandra, when you do satin stitch do a running stitch around the edge first then you will have an edge to go over, it keeps your stitch nice and even. Hope that helps xx

Very nice cardigan, and I love how lots of times when you show off your sweaters you have on the perfect pair of jeans. I love a looser fit, comfortable and slightly distressed look for jeans. Probably an odd comment to make, but I'm all about my jeans and I can't help but notice when I see jeans I love. Yes, I have to totally fall in love with a project in order to feel excited about starting it ... for example your Spice of Life blanket. When I saw that I was a goner. Hello Sandra 😊 Thank you for a wonderful creative video, it was lovely to see the finished items, especially the cardigan. I know what you mean regarding struggling to enjoy a project you had such joy for to start, but now you've finished and it's lovely! And you definitely know you won't make it again!! I have been away for a while due to one of my beloved cats getting seriously unwell, she had GI lymphoma at age 13 years; symptoms started 2 + months ago. We said goodbye to her two weeks ago and my heart is broken. I know you had a cat too at some stage, and the colouring was like the "photo negative" of my Puss...pie bald pattern I believe it's called. What happened to your cat? Anyway, time and gentle days ease the pain and I'm coming back to do much needed crochet which helps. Thank you for reading my message, your videos are as always a pleasure to see. Best wishes, Lin.

Hello lovely Lin! Thank you so much! Yes it's nice that now I have finished the cardigan I am starting to forget about the struggle of doing it and am starting to just enjoy wearing it. I am definitely feeling better about it now which is good. So sorry to hear about your darling puss-cat, it's so sad to let them go and they do leave such a hole. I hope that some crochet and crafting help soothe your days a little. Yes our lovely Stanley was a black and white pattern and such a dear boy. Unfortunately we lost him a few years ago now. It was very sudden though, he just seemed a little off in his behaviour and the said he had internal bleeding. We don't know the exact cause but there was little that could be done. It was sad to have to say goodbye to him, he was such an affectionate boy and we still miss him. ❤️❤️

Hi Sandra, thank you very much for your thoughtful reply❤. Oh yes, dear Stanley, I am so sorry, that is very sad and like you said very sudden. Regardless of the circumstances, it seems so surreal at the time and grief hits and lingers, in waves and ripples. I believe the saying is Big love, big grief. Anyway now I am crocheting my very first hexi cardigan, and grateful it is an easy project which is forgiving, allowing for creative adjustments! Blessings to you and your family, stay safe and well, L.❤

I know what you mean about not loving something that’s caused you so much trouble. I’m living it right now with a pullover. I had to learn an “Italian bind off”. 💯 the best book is by Cap Sease “Cast On, Bind Off”. I tried KZbin and the internet but that book saved my life… or maybe just my sanity.
