Just stumbled upon your videos while searching something to watch while knitting and I really love your energy and style! I got two skeins of kaschmir yarn for christmas and I was fangirling just like you over the softness of it! I plan on making myself some penny gloves from it and I am already so in love with the texture and warmth they will get from the yarn ♥

Admire you for letting go of the yarn stash accounting. You are quite the productive and creative knitter and that yarn will get used (or even if not, just fondling a good skein can bring joy). Just think of it this way, a painter buys tubes of paint so that they can have a palette to work from and they don't account for every tube.

I still do stash accounting in the backend because I love having the stats but easing up on the sharing helps with the pressure. But thank you for sharing this thought process!!! I love the concept of it ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

I love reknitting a good pattern. I always do socks two at a time on separate needles. I try to keep them at different points so that I don’t hit two heels at the same time.

That’s a great strategy! I might have to consider staggering them in the future if I like doing them two at a time on separate needles because two heels at the same time feels almost as bad as sleeve island. 😂

Just thought you would find it fun that Silvester in German means New Years! So perfect choice! 🥂

Yes, I think it’s the detail sitting higher on your shoulder, which draws the eye more than the drop shoulder seam. I’m narrow shouldered and you’ve inspired me to try this. Thank you x

I’m so happy you commented on your own knitting journey and how you notice your improved skills! Also appreciate your brief and honest update on your yarn stash. Enjoyed listening to all of it. Beautiful first colorwork sweater!!! I’m about to start the Lumme…. Purchased it on her advent sale… tried to resist but couldn’t……😊

You mentioned that your stripe hype is bulky underneath your arms, which made me believe what I was thinking all along. I think that you have a really nice gauge. if I’m reading it correctly, this sweater has a gauge of 17 stitches whereas the stripe hype is 20 stitches. I think that gives this sweater a little more drape than the stripe hype.
@bymwu21 сағат бұрын
I hadn't thought about comparing gauges before (feels so obvious in hindsight! haha so thank you for commenting and bringing that to light)! Are you suggesting that the combination yarn type plus gauge size plus overall sweater dimensions (I think the stripe hype is a tad wider in the bust area vs the tendril) would all contribute to the excess fabric under the arms? I think overall that makes sense?
@laurienowland858418 сағат бұрын
@ I was actually thinking about the drape or stiffness of the fabric. But either one could be a contributing factor. If you have an excess of fabric that could contribute also. I am currently making the autumn league pullover so I have been concerned with the drape of the fabric. I think that’s what made me think about this. Every Stripe Hype I have seen seems to have a tighter gauge than I think I’d like. This has kept me from knitting it. That being said I could go with a sport to light dk yarn.

Thank YOU for this lovely channel! I would absolutely watch any videos you made about your stash, but also totally get it if it's too stressful. Also I need to know if you finished that top by new years! 🙂 I hope 2025 is a great year for you.

Thank you so much for the sweet comment!! I'll def have a think about how I could find a stash related video that doesn't feel to stressful but also is informative 🙂 Sadly I didn't finish the top but I did work on it 😛 so at least I got that. Wishing you an amazing 2025 as well! ❤️

I was wondering if your Tendril sweater was in general not as wide as your other drop shoulder sweaters or doesn't have as much positive ease. So there might not be as much fabric that can bunch up under your arms??
@bymwu21 сағат бұрын
Totally possible! Especially when compared to the Stripe Hype Sweater! That said, my Stick(less) Season Sweater isn't terribly wide either which is why I think the fabric drape has an impact too. I appreciate you helping me trying to trouble shoot this! haha hopefully we'll be able to save the mystery someday ❤️
