Dina, what a special time of excitement for your family. Wishing your DIL good health and an easy delivery. Becoming a Bubbie (grandma) has been the greatest blessing for my husband and I. Luckily my DIL is a knitter and was so appreciative of everything I knit for the baby…..and her! The first sweater I casted on for him was Joji’s Garter Stitch Baby Kimono. It’s an older pattern with one size in fingering wt yarn, but my DIL loved it so much that when he outgrew the first one, I made it again in sport weight which made sized it up. There are so many patterns out there, have a great time prepping for baby!

Congratulations Dina! Being a grandmother is so fun. For five generations in my family, the first child was born when the mom was 25 years old. It always made it easy to figure out how old someone was!

It makes my heart so joyous to see my 7 month old great granddaughter wearing knitting and sewn garments I made for her mother 27 years ago! My daughter saved everything I made her! Now my knitting mojo is for my GGD! Love to hear my granddaughter bragging!

Welcome to the nana club! My daughter’s first pregnancy turned on my knitting gene 13 years ago and I haven’t stopped since! I love the baby sweater you are making! Don’t worry that she won’t be wearing it home from the hospital- Ha!!! I said she!! She’ll grow out of the newborn stuff so quickly. I usually pick the 1 year size- especially if the parents are tall. I find Malabrigo Rios is a workhorse yarn and also great color vibes! I love the cove cardigan for girls and I love the Wilfred Sweater from Petiteknit for boys- and it is my dad’s first name! Mazel Tov!!!!❤

Congratulations Dina ♥ I just had my second grandchild - and it is really life's dessert to have grandkids 🙂 You may want to knit a baby blanket - my girls use the ones I made for their babies a lot - even when the baby is older, it is nice to have a blanket to bring in the stroller or car etc

I received a picture from my niece when she brought her baby home from the hospital using a blanket I made for them and I felt the blanket was appreciated. Congrat Dina on your news I hope they won’t find out what sex it is because it is the last true surprise.

I saw a piece on Jacqueline Kennedy which told about her graduation. As a thank you for gifts, she had a picture taken of herself wearing the scarf, jewelry and other items and sent them with her thank you notes, so thoughtful!

I knit a blanket, 2 hats, a sweater and dress for my great nieces baby and heard nothing and no pictures. I have not knit for any other babies on that side of the family because of it. My sister-in-law thought it was so cute but her son and granddaughter said nothing. A lot of work went into it.

Absolutely on the thank you and pic. I knit a sweater for a neighbor’s 2 year old and never have seen in on him, pic wise. Last time I knit for them. I knit heavy duty for fam and they do not wear the stuff too frequently so stopping that! My husband is the only one that wear everything!!!! Not going to waste time on others. ❤

I hate to say it but the younger generations aren’t great with thank you notes, rsvp’ing, or acknowledging gifts like we were raised to do even though phones should make it easier.

Oh please make 2025 year to use Ravelry for your projects. I have used Ravelry for several years now it’s so easy I just do it on my phone . You can ass photos directly from your phone. Any mods I do I put in project notes. Happy Holidays to both of you{{HUGS}} My resolution is to try and knit using stash. I have started asking those who have received my hand knits to have send me a picture with their sweet babe. Young people do not know how to write thank you notes it drives me crazy!!!!
