This man got me through my teenage years with my kitten (she was the teen.. ). Now she's grown into a wonderful, sweet cat and Jackson helped with that. 🥰

Hey, y’all. This was a great podcast with lots of valid points raised. So, I just want to add to the discussion about declawing. I share your aversion to this practice, but I also feel compelled to highlight some institutional factors that may influence its continued existence. There is a lack of access to individual home and land ownership. As such, many are at the mercy of landlords and their questionable leasing practices. I still remember reading a lease from a landlord that only allowed cats if they were declawed! I think that many of the people who even consider the practice are concerned about losing their security deposits. Or, worse yet, getting evicted. They may even have the misguided notion that declawing is a more humane option than rehoming their cat because of the aforementioned concerns. I feel that a combined approach of education and removing the institutional barriers (I.e. unreasonable leasing terms, access to homes and land, etc) could make declawing an obsolete practice much sooner. We need tenants’ rights for humans AND their pets. Just my two cents. Anyhow, thank you for all you do. And thanks for gracing us with the OG Cat Daddy. Kudos on the intro, by the way. 👍🏿

Many cats will resort to biting after being declawed. It’s just sad

It’s cutting the two bones off each of their toes. It’s just wrong!
