Boz Scaggs wasn't just in Steve Miller's band. He was a childhood classmate of Steve. Steve helped him learn guitar.

The Steve Miller Band's 'Sailor' takes me back to the summer of 1969. Just graduated HS and had a job as a lifeguard. Wow.

I was born in 65. Raised around music, both sides of my family. I'm a lifelong musician. I started watching Don Kirschners Rock concert and Midnight Special in probably 73, on a regular basis. I was religious about The Midnight Special. Every Friday at Midnight. Except for the odd TV special or newscast, these shows were all we had. Started buying Circus Mag., Creem, Hit Parade, and Rolling Stone. These were my sources. Still have most of those. Lp's, 8-tracks, and then a little later, cassettes. Still have probably 99% of those. Besides my family, music is my life. Ya'll keep up what you're doing. Real cool, thanks for show. Oh yeah, I saw Steve Miller, with Chris Duarte, Texas guitarist, opening up. Didn't even know he was play'in. Steve had a light show that looked like it came straight out of The Fillmore East, circa 69! Music, that was always kickass!

Saw them late 80s I believe 89 on their Born To Be Blue tour. Great album and band. I was so fortunate to go to shows that don't cost a months rent like today. Crazy scam going on now.

Hi Joe. Joe and Mike here from the Friday Music label. You cats and Burt are doing a great service for music fans. If you would like, you could consider me for guest commentary here and there. I’ve worked with most of these artists and have reissued a lot of their classic albums on the label. Steve Miller is one of my friends and this episode was a big deal in his superstar in the making career. Great stuff!

The James gang did NOT include Joe Walsh, but the late great Tommy Bolin.

That's one little error he made. I always associated The James Gang with Joe Walsh.

LMBO HA HA Bolin came after Joe Walsh who replaced original Guitarist Glen Schwartz from Pacific Gas and Electric. What are you 30 years or younger. HA HA

The one song that was left off Steve Miller's Greatest Hits was Serenade.
