For the life of me I cannot remember how I stumbled across your videos, but I am so glad I did. I have been making kefir now since the end of December and learning so much from your videos along the way. I tried the second ferment a few days ago and what a difference in flavor and creaminess. Thanks to you I'm a kefir junkie, and I can't go a day without a sip. I stand behind you in spreading the word about the nutritional value of kefir and it's healing properties. Thank you so much for all your hard work. It is greatly appreciated.

Last week I picked up a bottle of Lifeway brand kefir. I hadn't had any in a very long time. It tasted so good to me. I read the Family story on the side of the bottle. I decided to Google keifer. I've had digestive issues and heartburn for many many years. I take probiotics and digestive enzymes daily. So, long story short, I ordered some fresh organic kefir grains from the next state over. I got them today an immediately put them in my jar and added the milk. Tomorrow I will add my piece of fruit. I'm excited to begin this new kefir journey. I believe in the natural healing from growing up on a small farm. We made homemade butter and cottage cheese etc, but I guess my people had never heard about keifer. I would love to know someone today who has a milk cow so I could get my hands on that real milk! I'll soon be 68 and lately I've been feeling unwell. My body aches 24/7. I don't sleep well. It goes on and on. I hate taking more Rxs, so I go for chiropractic and medical massage often to get through the days. It helps, somewhat, with my pain. I really enjoyed listening to your story and I thank you for sharing. I plan to learn a lot more from your videos as I have time. Thank you and many blessings to you!❤️🙏

I just started watching your KZbin videos and podcast yes 2020 was horrible My kids lost their dad he would of been 56 that year too young brings me to tears just to think of it. Almost 2 years later I got covid and my job terminated me after 9 years of working with them its been a struggle even if I went to the e.r after my primary sent me and I even had to have an EKG and go home with an inhaler they didn't even want my medical records to show them proof. I'm sorry for you loss I understand your pain Every holiday we are reminded and his birthday which was March 14 brings back pain yes some good memories but of a person that was taken away from us much too soon I do believe our heavenly Father has a bigger plan and know someday we will be reunited. I do think our pain and trials are to strengthen us and to help others I can tell you im learning alot about kefir and still waiting but I should have my first Kefir on Tuesday and am so excited I already told my sister about and ill be sharing with her to help her with her help she gets kidney stones and I'm on a mission to help her so I thank you for sharing your thoughts, recipes, wisdom and knowledge because I will be sharing with any family that wants to listen and cares God bless Donna sending love and prayers we all need it

Hi Donna I used to follow your site years ago but lost your site on my iPad I recently restarted using my Kefir grains and had watched another site til I found 🐑 Again I also make Kombucha from your site and I had stopped it also I had bought new scobies cause I couldn’t find the ones I had in the fridge (it turned out they were stuck in a huge ice that had formed on the back of my fridge) … lol … so as I only have about a tablespoon of Kefir grains I have only been making it in a jam jar with about a cup of milk and as I live here Down Under and it is winter here what I have been doing is putting a piece of kitchen towel on the jar and keeping it in place with a silicone egg mould and sitting the jar near the oil heater the egg mould heats also and it made me think of 🐑 re using a heat ring or mat for kombucha … lol … in the morning the Kefir is ready I strain it and was putting frozen fruit in it just on the kitchen counter with a lid the next morning I pour the whole jar into my cereal and start the process again … I went into have haemorrhoid surgery on Weds so put the grains in milk in the fridge as I was staying overnight in hospital fun thing was they had to find me a bed as they had me down as a day patient I had to wait in recovery til they found me a bed in Maternity Ward … lol … I am 79 and had a Hysterectomy when I was 43 … lol … so the nurse put a doll in the crib while I was at the loo … lol … anyway when I came home I put the Kefir next to the oil heater … I woke at eleven pm and decided to check the Kefir … it was ready so I decided to peel a lemon like Ewe said but Stupid me used a vegetable peeler well I cut about a third of my little finger nail off Ouch but at least the throbbing of my pinky took my mind of my Bum … lol …

Donna, I KNOW how you feel about losing a pet! They become part of us, part of our family! I had a lovebird for 23 years, and a parakeet for 7. My little parakeet would lay infertile eggs, and would sometimes lay them inside one of the dishes. She would take all her toys out of it, and lay a little egg. She looked like she was egg bound at one point. I took her to the vet who thought she had a little fatty growth. We watched it for a month or two, and my little bird would just get in the dish without laying an egg so I was concerned that she wasn’t feeling well. The vet did surgery, and my little parakeet died during surgery. I cried for a week, and missed her so much. I took my lovebird to an aunts house one day shortly after, and was telling my aunt about my parakeet, and my little lovebird went and got inside one of her dishes! She knew I was talking about her friend, and I’m sure he missed her too. Soon after, I found a little windup chicken that would walk and lay candy eggs. My lovebird loved it! She followed that chicken around as it walked, waiting for the eggs to drop!!!! So funny!!! Our pets add so much joy to our lives! They respond to our love and love us back, and love each other! Thank Heaven for the blessing of pets! Thankyou, Donna, for sharing all your knowledge and tips! I look for your podcasts every week!

Hello! Very inspirational! 😍 My son is 9 months old. I started giving him milk kefir ~3 months ago and noticed a big shift in his behavior and mood, especially during developmental leaps. He is less fussy, more calm and overall happier baby now. I only wonder how much I can give him in a day. He started from 1 oz, but now he easily drinks 4-5 oz of fresh kefir. Isn’t too much for 9 months old? And what about second fermentation? Can I give it to him too? My pediatrician doesn’t have any guidelines not only for kefir, but for all fermented food. 🤷🏻♀️ so I’m looking for myself 😃 Do you have any recommendations for 9+ months old? Thank you!

i put at least a cup of mixed berries in a blender with a qt of freshly finished kefir and blend it into a smoothie and then let it set out at room temp again for 24 hrs (make sure you use a bigger jar, it will expand)... it will separate at first but then recombine and if it doesn't a quick stir will work... and then i refrigerate, and it tastes like seltzer... it has a little fizz and most if not all the sugar is gone so it is like a sugar free flavored seltzer drink...

Me again I also watched a KZbin about making probiotic water the lady said to use part of your probiotic caps and a Spoon full of honey in still water I didn’t have caps so I used some of my old kefir Whey in one and some Kombucha in another as starters I also put a piece of scobies into the jars she suggested putting them on the window sill to have the sun on the jars and they worked the Kombucha one made a new little scoby … lol … I actually took a small bottle of the Kefir water to the hospital as clear fluid that they had instructed I could only drink after midnight … lol … I had been instructed to take a Omeprazole daily a week before surgery taking the last one on the day of the surgery as I had stopped taking it been on it for over25 as I found it stopped absorbing of vitaminB12 and Magnesium I have B12 anaemia and pins and needles in feet and hands grrr but the Anaesthetist said people with Gastric Reflux can vomit under the Anaesthetic. And risks Bronchitis Pneumonia or death … also I had to stop my fish oil for a week but since coming home I have not had any heartburn I am thinking it’s the Kefir and Kombucha that’s stopping the heartburn I hope so … lol … keep up the good work 🐑 do with Your KZbin and podcasts so glad I found 🐑 again

Please what do you do with kefir grains if you don’t use them as much? I make kefir but it’s only me and there’s a lot of them and I don’t know what to do with them Can you freeze them or refrigerate them? If so how, Thabks

I just read a comment under another video, and the commenter said he swallows them like pills for even more probiotic effect. I've never tried that, but he seemed happy with his results.

Hi, I love your channel! I bought my kefir grains from you and have been making kefir for the past 3 months. I recently started storing my kefir in recycled kombucha bottles which are airtight. I do this after the kefir is done and ready for the fridge. Since doing that I’ve noticed that when I take my kefir out of the fridge it is highly carbonated and is like a volcano shooting out of the bottle when I try to open it. Once I’m able to pour it in a glass, it’s bubbling and fizzing like a science project. It takes a while to calm down. Is this normal and safe to drink? Note, I wasn’t experiencing this when I was storing it in mason jars.

Interesting, now I know how to made fizzi kefir like carbonate drink, may be not to store them too long in the airtight bottle ,that made the kefir not too fizzi so everything is ok.😊
