I have noticed remarkable improvement since I've been using it. I have a rescue kitten that I found starving a couple of months ago. She's healthy now but when she yawned her breath would knock you down. Her teeth, even though she was young were yellow as well. I started giving her about a teaspoon of this yogurt when I had mine each morning. I would say it's been about three weeks and she no longer has bad breath and her teeth are whiter. I'm not exaggerating either. Seeing the profound difference it has made on her makes me realize that stuff is really amazing.

I have been making and eating the L. reuteri yogurt since last November. First of all, I am 75 years old and my gut has never worked so well in my entire life. I eat it everyday and my health has improved significantly because of this yogurt. I recently wanted to make a double batch in order to give some to a friend. I had bought both the Osfortis and the Gastrus brands of L. reuteri. What I did was to make this double batch with both types of L.reuteri. The results were amazing. The combination has produced a very thick and creamy yogurt without a lot of the tangy taste. I absolutely love this new combination and will continue to make it. We have nicknamed this yogurt, "Turbo Turd Yogurt", because of what it does to make the gut work so well👩🏻🍳😂 I always make it with Jersey cow half and half.

I added L. Reuteri "yogurt" to my diet one month ago and eat it daily. About one week ago I was getting a massage and, while laying face down, my massage therapist asked me how much weight I have lost. I told her that I have not lost any weight and the I could tell that since I haven't been exercising (I also lift weights) as much since rotator cuff surgery I felt that I have lost some of the firmness that I had. She said, "Well, your waist is telling a different story because it is visibly smaller than it used to be!" Also, I was back at CrossFit (with limitations) one month after rotator cuff surgery and released with no restrictions (although I do need to build up my strength) after only 12 weeks post-surgery. The symptoms of dementia cross over with mycotoxin exposure in water damaged buildings. These biotoxins are extremely acidic and get into the cells and contribute to the loss of most intracellular electrolytes like potassium and magnesium. This destroys brain function when the mycotoxins enter the brain. I am suffering from this right now after 16 years employment in a nursing home as a registered nurse where the roof leaked all the time in that building. The hospital always said that there was no mold problem! I am hoping that this yogurt can help bind these mycotoxins and restore my gut bacteria. I was forced into early retirement and struggle to meet my own needs now because of extreme weakness, insomnia and problems with word finding. I pray this is what helps me because there is few doctors in Fairbanks Alaska who do not just say that I am delusional! I have no help but what I study to hind answers for my own health.

I have been making an L. Reuters yoghurt yoghurt for a few months now, and based on Dr. Davis tips I also add l. gasseri, b. Infantis, and b. coagulants. My first couple batches I aggressively mixed the spore powders and probiotic inulin (and later batches a couple tbsp of yoghurt from the last batch) into the half & half with a whisk. The resulting yoghurt was tasty, but not a good consistency with watery whey separated from the creamy solids. Then instead of hand whisking I started using the Ninja bullet mixer (that I bought for making smoothies) and suddenly the yoghurt had the consistency of a good whole fat Greek yoghurt. Doing this also significantly reduced the fermentation time from 36 hours down to 24 hours or less. I'm 65, and my wife and I are enjoying the yogurt, and all the benefits described by Dr. Davis and in the comments.

@@lorettamargaret2243 L.Reuteri is not a thermal ferment like the ones for yogurt, L.Reuteri is growing even a 10°C, it s a ambient room temperature culture, 37°C is a near maximum warmth for L.Reuteri and only make it duplicate the fastest possible ! but faster means more difficult to handle, you get more separation, you favor other ferments to grow quicker and end results will be more yogurt or cheese rather pure L.Reuteri culture. My advice is culture around 30/35 °C and go for 48Hrs.

You can buy it or make it. Also chewing 6 grams of it a day in gum after meals cut down ear and sinus infections significantly and also cuts down on cavities. I personally just ordered it so haven't used it yet but do chew the gum and it has made a difference. It is a prebiotic.

Hi Dr. Davis, thanks for your videos. We tried your process (from your book and podcasts) using a sous vide wand in a pot of water but when the fermented dairy was done (at 36 hours) the temperature was 125 degrees!!! Here's what we did. We used a sous vide wand in a pot of water. I tested this prior to the diary placing a quart mason jar with about 24 oz of water in it into the water in the pot with the sous vide wand. I set the sous vide wand to 104 degrees and after an hour the water in the jar sitting in the water in the pot got to about 100 degrees. I check this 3-4 times thinking this can work. Following your recipe, did the process with the 10 crushed tablets, 2 different capsules and inulin. We placed the mixture into 2 qt mason jars (half each) and 36 hours finished this morning. We kept checking the sous vide pot water temp, which was 105 and the dairy in the jars at around 104. At 36 hours after removing the jars and checking the temp, the fermented dairy was 125 degrees!!!! We killed our very first batch of L reuteri. We are very bummed but realize it could be any number of things. Maybe as the dairy hardens in the jars it retains more heat??? We used half 100% Grass-fed Ultra Pasteurized whole milk mixed with ultra pasteurized organic heavy cream (16oz each). Just guessing. I thought the sous vide method was going to work wonderfully since others on YT did this. Donna Schwenk recommends (in podcasts/KZbin) a few different yogurt makers and I've seen similar on Amazon but none have temp controls like a sous vide or an Instant Pot Pro where one can dial in precise temps. Any thoughts? Suggestions welcome!

The University of Vermont were studying mice that were already susceptible to MS. They were not studying probiotic use in humans. If you are a mouse living at the University of Vermont that is genetically altered to develop autoimmune disease then you should probably not participate in the gut microbiome experiments or you may make your MS symptoms worse. Vermont University was not feeding the experimental mice home made reuterii yoghurt.

Have you made the yogurt (fermented milk) yet? If so, how’re you doing now? Any benefits?
@ronb4305Ай бұрын
@ Hi, yes I did make it and ate it for about 9 months. Eight of those months I was very consistent in having half a cup every day (then I simply got too busy to make it). But right away I noticed some improvements. I began to remember my dreams, and little by little more hair on my arms, and head, began to sprout and grow. I didn’t know hair growth could be a side effect and it was welcomed. Also I noticed very quick and easy muscle growth on my legs just by walking on a treadmill! I am a woman in my mid forties by the way. I didn’t notice more oxytocin and desire for social connection, which is one of the benefits I wanted to experience. I also was hoping my sleep would improve but I didn’t experience that while eating the yogurt. I do want to add that my sleep has improved very much, recently, and it’s due to having started a meditation practice. Five days into meditating I was suddenly able to sleep in again, and also my dreams have become more deep and rich. I mention that because I believe that the fact that I accumulate stress, very easily, affects my sleep and also affects my desire to socialize and connect with people. The meditation practice allows for reduced stress. I plan to start making the yogurt again soon. Then, I will compare how a more relaxed body responds to the yogurt in regard to oxytocin, compassion and social connection. Thank you for asking. I will update here again!

I use my muscles a lot ( pro harpist, opera singer and dancer) I usually need recovery time, but no recovery time now, muscles are stronger. Vivid dreams. I'm allergic to dairy but can do goat cheese, but a friend makes Reuteri yogurt with Buffalo Milk, and he swears by it. Buffalo milk has 45% more protein and calcium, less cholesterol, better enzymes. My skin is going through something , shedding, I need to exfoliate more. I feel full more, and don't feel like I have to eat as much. I will report back in a few months.

I've made the coconut version twice now. The first one was great so I made it again but followed Luvele's recipe where the coconut cream isn't separated. The first time I separated the cream and only used that plus about 50% organic soy milk. So, 50% solid coconut cream and 50% soy milk. I used agar agar to thicken each time and Acacia pre-biotic. I don't want to buy inulin or potato starch since I have acacia in the house. The second time I used 2 tbsp. of the first yogurt plus 1 L. Reuteri tablet just in case it needed additional L. Reuteri. but this time it separated less than 24 hours into the ferment. Donna or Dr. Davis (or anyone), do you think adding sunflower lecithin before fermentation would prevent it from separating? Next time I'll go back to the first recipe I used.
@rochelles.83877 ай бұрын
I bought a new instant pot with sous vide function and the result is great. I have very little separation now and once blended it is creamy and smooth. I've been making it saving the first batch as starter for the next batch(es) using the saved starter for each batch until it is gone then I start over with L. Reuteri tablets. Using 50% coconut cream and 50% organic soy milk (organic is safe and healthy to eat. Previous soy studies have been disproved showing it is harmful) makes a very thick and creamy yogurt.

Followed your recipe. Out of the 8 , 6-ounce jars, there is 1 that was more sour than the rest. Very noticeably sour. All of them had some separation. They were all submerged in 98 to 100-degree water in a flat-style yogurt maker for 36 hours. They all tasted great to me Perhaps I didn't mix them thoroughly, although I did crush them to a fine powder.. Nonetheless, would the one that was the sourest be the best one to use to make my second batch, as it may have the highest concentration of L. reuteri, and make the second batch less separated and more potent? The thing is, usually what is anabolic decreases lifespan. For instance there is a study on mice where giving them extra testosterone decreased lifespan by a lot. IGF-1 and growth hormone also tend to decrease lifespan. I would like to know how a kefir yogurt would affect lifespan in animal models. Supposedly people above 65 years old benefit from more protein to fight sarcopenia so in that case more anabolism would be a good thing.
