Hi thanks very much for this wonderful podcast! I love the sound of your voice! Can I leave the jar vertically upright, or do I need to lay the jar on it’s side or on an angle, on day 2 and 3?

I haven't made this recipe using flax seeds so i can't say for sure. Seeds are different then grains. The chia and flax get thick when soaked so i dont think it work the same. But I do believe you can use quinoa.

I made up some rejuvelac about six months back that stunk BADLY, and it caused extreme mold to grow all over the walls. What can I do next time to avoid these types of problems?

Will rejuvelac create lots of ethanol if it is let to ferment over a week. Im guessing it would be like 0.3 percent ethanol ?

Really interesting I know thievmay not be directly related, but based on the research, I have been monkeying around with chlorella powder, no for any other teasons but due to its research based nutritional and heavymetal and toxin detoxification properties

Hi Donna, I was listening to your Podcast dealing with Rejuvelac. I have listened & watched your programs on many different fermenting classes. Really have enjoyed them. And I had so much fun doing kombucha, kefir, sour dough breads as well as vegetable fermenting. So thanks so much. But I do have a question. When making the rejuvelac can I use oat groats instead of wheat berries? Oat groats are soft grain & I was thinking it may work. What do you think? Thanks again
@CulturedFoodLife
@CulturedFoodLife 5 жыл бұрын
Hi Rebecca! Thank you so much for your kind words! You can try to make it with oat groats, but I never have and a lot of grains dissolve and turn to mush when attempting to make rejuvelac so they don't work as well as the wheat berries.
@rebeccafreeman1123
@rebeccafreeman1123 5 жыл бұрын
@@CulturedFoodLife Thanks Donna, I did try the oat groats & they did not work at all, like you thought. They just would not sprout & the end result was they began to smell really bad. It just happen to be the the only grains I had at the time & now I know. So, I will get wheat berries & I can't wait to try them. Thanks for all you help & good advice.

I wish I had know all these statistics when I was making rejuvelac years ago. We knew nothing about probiotics and all we knew this was good for you, Big deal, so are carrots, spinach, and many others. We were only thinking vitamins. So many of us quit making because of only part knowledge. Now I'm back on the band wagon, but for other reasons. Thanks so much for your teaching. It has helped. My friend sent me some water kefir grains so my first batch is only about 4 hours from being done.

Can you go ahead and sprout the wheat grass and grow it for juicing, once you use it for making Rejuvelac?
@CulturedFoodLife
@CulturedFoodLife 4 жыл бұрын
Hi! We don't use wheat grass for rejuvelac. We use wheat berries which are the wheat grain that is usually turned into flour. In the podcast I mentioned a woman who owned a wheat grass bar but she found more health benefits from rejuvelac than she did her wheat grass shots. But you use wheat berries not wheat grass to make rejuvelac: www.culturedfoodlife.com/can-rejuvelac-help-with-alcoholism/

How often and when do you drink Rejuvelac?
@CulturedFoodLife
@CulturedFoodLife 4 жыл бұрын
Hi! You can drink it anytime. I don't drink this very often (I mostly drink kombucha). But it can be helpful for healing. I always suggest starting slow with 1/4 cup or so and working up to around a cup. I'm not a doctors (so just keep this in mind) But this is what I've personally done in the past.

Some sights said only to drink on an empty stomach, and not to drink if you have leaky gut, which most overweight people have and don't even know it. What is your opinion on this?

These videos are just podcasts that I am sharing via KZbin as well as on my website.. The kitchen videos were filmed with a professional crew to get everyone started making cultured foods.. I still film hands on recipes but the old style videos are quite a production and take weeks to make , edit and record.. Hope to do more in the future but for now podcasts and recipe videos are what I can do easily and quickly :)

Yes we are all here for the recipes , however in order for us to appreciate the recipes and what the benefits are the stories add credibility to them. Who wants a recipe that does nothing good for you.
