Congress should require current photographs and video documentation of these chimpanzees. Congress should be permitted to visit the premises. We have many representatives in political parties (note it is plural), who are interested in animal advocacy because they understand that humanity is a reflection of how a culture treats animals and people. There are voting records that confirm the commitment. They understand that the nature of people who mistreat animals, indicates larger problems. I hope transparency can occur - especially since our House of Representatives manages funding for these creatures' care and our constituents pay for that funding. We should "see" why NIH is unwilling to let these animals leave.

Too sick to move 5 years ago, yet they are still alive and would have benefited greatly by being moved. I have been a monthly supporter of HSUS for 20+ years and chimpanzees/sanctuaries have become my passion in the past 10 years. What was done to the chimps in Liberia before HSUS stepped in is appalling.
