First time I've tuned in to your podcast - really appreciate the relaxed atmosphere and insiders' insights. Great analysis of the plethora of similar models. Some of these big guitar companies should put the pair of you on the board of directors!

I could sit and listen to you guys talk guitars, etc all day long. That tells you a bit about how my life is going! 😢

Amps for Acoustic guitars: Taylor Citca 74 compared to a Fishman Loudbox mini: not much of any difference in sound for what I do except the Fishman is expensive by far. All the stuff you were talking about plugs in. That means a building engineer has to inspect and test the before I could plug in: WAY to much hassle. Guess they had someone who blew a circuit with a heart machine on it.

You guys mentioned a guitar being built oversees perhaps costing 2-3k more for the same product and I get that. How about a company like Gibson charging 15k more on some of their products also built in pretty much the same place. I do love Gibson guitars too but some of these companies give price gouging a whole new level LOL 😆

I got to hear that LR Baggs guitar a couple months ago played live by Molly Tuttle at a show in Oakland. It sounded great (although, anything that Molly plays is going to sound great).

If it's Basque, the sausage is chorizo. I like Cooper's comments on the Panaverbamp. If you have the money for a Panaverb, you not only have the money to hire a roadie, but add a liftgate to your truck. (Says a guy waiting for abdominal surgery (hernia)) Is it "the long Lost interview with The Highwaymen"? Kris Kristofferson, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willy Nelson) 🤣

Re LR Baggs guitar: if you ever registered your pickup, Chris, you would have gotten an email. Customers first, I guess.

Did you guys videotape your trip to Furch? Taylor? If so, how can I find it?

Great point made by Paul Reed Smith. I'd have no problem buying a solid-wood guitar made by Taylor in Mexico. BUT we should also think about the US workers who would lose their jobs...
@septemberwalkАй бұрын
will you guys ever do any lefty customs with taylor?
@mattelder914714 күн бұрын
Buying USA for me is more about supporting our economy and the families here over supporting other economies. Also I know the working conditions are better here. I try to minimize imports where I can.

as someone who lived and worked in China from 1993 to 2012 there is no pride in craftsmenship thats why there products are more defective Iphones and electronics are made of parts that they just assemble

There's a lot of crap coming out of china, and then there's gems like Eastman. The Chinese can build great stuff if they want to, qc is so important

PS We should also think about the impact on the climate of all these container ships moving cheap guitars to the other side of the world.

Let me guess, Taylor has a new body shape? Heard that from a roadshow rep

Enjoy your podcast but you guys really crap on the innovative ways companies are trying to make acoustic-electric guitars sound better. Chris gave a half-assed review of the Fender Highway a while back (poor audio made it impossible to hear what it really sounds like plugged in) and now you're crapping on the AEG 1 without even playing it. The fact is that the traditional way of amplifying an acoustic guitar simply doesn't work too well and Fender (and now LR Baggs) is reimagining how to do this. I have the Higway and I can tell you that when you plug it in it sounds more like an acoustic guitar than most acoustic guitars do when those are played through a pickup. I haven't played the AEG 1 but it's an interesting idea -- what if you started with the pickup and then designed the optimum vehicle for it, rather than vice versa. Really, you ought to be more open-minded. You can take a $10,000 D-45 and play it through a piezo and it will sound like garbage. So why not try something new? BTW, people laughed at Les Paul in the '40s and we all know how that turned out.
