And how if we use USB audio from phone instead of the 3.5mm? How can we do the mix minus using an audio interface in that configuration? Thank you

Can this setup work with zoom on PC and can I replace irig 2 with irig HD2(usb version)

Can the IRIG@ be used with an android cell or will it need adapters?
@PodcastMeister4 жыл бұрын
Should be no issue - as long as the Android phone has a port to where a 3,5mm headSET (not only headphone, as it needs to have mic input too - hence trRs or tip-ring-ring-sleeve connector on the iRig2) can be plugged in. May require an adapter, ie USB-C to headset adapter and it should work. I have not tested it though. Good luck!

Thank you for this info! It's really appreciated. I have to say though, I was surprised on the focus on having a guest arrive to the podcast by calling in. Why wouldn't someone record it through Skype or Zoom? I know some people do have their guests call in, but I would try and avoid that if at all possible and I can't see why it wouldn't be possible most of the time?

Hi, thanks! The challenges with Skype and Zoom are a, to record everyone on a separate audio track to be able to individually edit them in post and b, the other party must use the software of your choice. Point „a“ can be solved with paid software - point „b“ remains a limitation. I personally prefer a hardware solution with no subscription fee and the (relative) freedom of choice for those calling in, but you are right, it is an option, with the above mentioned caveats.

@@PodcastMeister Got it, yeah it makes sense in that way, that you wanted to present an option that anyone could use without having to be tethered to something more costly or complex. I play music myself and so I already run Reaper where I could run the two tracks to it and record it as we go. I have heard several podcasts where the guest calls in and while the host sounds loud and clear, the guest is difficult to hear and it's less enjoyable. My thought goes towards, if you can push a guest towards a Skype or zoom meeting, the likelihood of them having better audio-equipment than a cell phone mic goes up. Anyway just thoughts; and a thoughtful video once again, thank you!

Can the Focusrite Scarlett 8i6 3rd Supply 250 OHM Headphones? For example the DT 990 Pro 250 Ohm?
@PodcastMeister4 жыл бұрын
Yes, it can. All the „mains-powered“ ones (6i6, 8i6, 18i6, 18i8 and 18i20) can. As per their support pages, for the bus powered Scarlett interfaces though (Solo, 2i2, 2i4, 4i4) you should rather „look for headphones with a maximum impedance of 200 ohms“ albeit they also say that „you may find that our products can actually drive higher impedance headphones than the values listed“ So no worries with the 8i6. IMHO, it‘s one of the best - if not the best - devices when it comes to price-to-value ratio. I would buy it over the 4i4 seven days a week a twice on sunday. :)

Will IRIG HD-2 Pro work too?
@PodcastMeister Жыл бұрын
The iRig HD2 (no „Pro“ in the name) should work just as well, although there‘s not much point in upgrading to it (unless you have one already). The iRig interfaces with „Pro“ in the name do not have the same ports/funtionality.
