Matt Bolton was recommending this mic recently, and if you don't know him. watch out for his channel. He's an amazing one man band thanks to a looper, streaming live almost daily like right now. He's recommending it because of it's low to no feedback and for live-performances, that's really important.

Rather beautiful colouration on this, I actually like it for speech intelligibility but mainly it's got a vintage sort of feel to it that really enrich instrumentals. Loved the acoustic on this really, but the electric was something else.

How would you compare this with the Sennheiser e945? To me it sounds crispier than the Shure sm58 but warmer than the Sennheiser e945, but that's only based on your videos. I think it sounded very similar to the e835 too. What do you think? Also thanks for sharing this, I was waiting for your review on this one, you are a legend!

I'm still confused about where Shure is positioning the Nexadyna 8 in their lineup compared to the KSM8. The price makes it seem like Shure is saying the KSM8 is "better."

2:44 IMO I think this shows that for most people starting out, it's probably better to go for a dynamic mic rather than an LDC. Even though the reflections are audible, they're quite well subdued here.

Of all the dynamics you compared on your voice, I liked the e835 the most.
@image66mediaАй бұрын
The nasal aspect of the microphone is a little off-putting. You really nailed the use-case for the microphone. It’s a stand-mount microphone for stage use. The rejection of the drumkit is a very specific advantage to the microphone and it does control the plosives at lip-touch distances well-something that nearly all super-cardioid microphones struggle with. As a long-time (decades) live sound engineer, I actually prefer the SM58 or e835 in almost every case. My own “signature” live sound mix is e835 or e935 centric. The Sennheisers are great on stage, lousy in the studio. What is really telling is how insanely bad the sound is from this microphone when cupped.

Hey, love your stuff! If you had a $300 budget and wanted to improve your audio quality for zoom calls (work), while also recording your acoustic-electric guitar sometimes (hobby), What would your setup be? Which mic/interface would you buy? I watched your $150 budget setup video, it's great! I can invest $300 though, I'd also prefer to place the mic off-camera, as I'm not comfortable with a full size mic in front of my face for the video-call context.

@Fl4ppersАй бұрын
Its RnD being reimbursed though isnt it. Shure are trying to solve a specific live performance problem here so I can see why the cost is up here. The V7 is also made in a Chinese factory where manufacturing is soooo much cheaper thanks to no human rights, no workers rights, low-low pay rates... Chinese products, if you've noticed, have started to get more expensive too as China realises they can start to get economic benefits from this stuff as its often better made than European or American manufacturing.
@John-oi8mtАй бұрын
@@Fl4ppers bet you’ve got some Chinese products in your home? A metal tube, dynamic capsule, no electronic circuitry to speak of= $300!!! Don’t think so! BTW, most likely made in Mexico, cheap labour, etc, etc, etc! Checkmate! Me thinks?😁
@Fl4ppersАй бұрын
@@John-oi8mt there is no check mate here. I'm just pointing out why some things are cheaper since you complained about the price, all things have to be taken into account. And there are better workers rights in Mexico.
