Hands down, you've got the *BEST* mic reviews out there. They're really very complete. About the Yeti X (jokes and the fact that most people buy it to get in on the fad aside) I think its versatility in terms of polar patterns is a definite plus. For someone (me) who is looking for a mic that will allow them to record their voice, record the voice of two people side by side (say, a _podcast-ish_ setup) and record instruments (though not everything at the same time 😊), AND who can't go too much over the 200 price mark, would you recommend the Yeti X? I'm between this mic and the Rode NT1 + the Behringer UMC22 (because the combo is sort of in the price range). I know these two mics are apples and tomatoes... But one seems good due to the versatility of its polar patterns and the other seems good because of its quality and the fact that it's and XLR mic. I _have_ seen your review on the NT1, but because these two mics are very far apart in time, and obviously no one is comparing them, I wonder what your opinion would be if you were to compare them. Thanks for the great content!

Nicely done. Love the intro humor. I use a variety of mics to record podcasts and other audio files including the Classic Blue Yeti, ATR2100, SM58, Samson Q2U and others. The Blue Yeti gets a load of shade from many podcasters. Like any condenser mic, if your room isn't treated the Yeti can sound terrible, particularly if you put it on a table three feet away from you or - even worse - in the middle of a table recording three or four people in an open room. The Yeti can offer good recording quality in the right environment and when used correctly. For most podcasters with a microphone budget in the $60 to $80 range, a dynamic mic such as the Q2U or ATR2100 is a better choice. Final comment: I wish Logitech would show some love for the Mac. The lack of a working Mac version of the GHub software is just the latest example of ignoring Mac users.

You can use combine Equalizer APO with any VST-plugin, including Reaper's for live FX. I think that Equalizer APO is more convenient than Voicemeeter. It doesn't add another driver and it needs only one extra process running rather than the two programs if you want live FX (since you need Cantabile or similar in addition with Voicemeeter). Neither does it have a startup time and Equalizer APO doesn't struggle with things getting plugged in or out to you have to reselect them as output etc. A bit harder to set up though, but well worth it in my opinion. It's better for those people that just wants something that they never have to bother with again once it's set up.

Since there I’ve used the figure 8 mode to record me and my GF for a podcast, we love the sound and its stupid easy to record onto my iPad Pro with just a quick adapter. It’s not the best out there but its sounds pretty good and most importantly of all its super easy to use. The included software makes this entire product suddenly very interesting. Real-time audio processing, with a limiter/compressor/denoiser functionality, is quite useful. I'm a big fan of the tools that VB-Audio makes, like Banana, but not everyone is aware of them. I wish more usb-audio-device companies included some basics within their driver settings: loudness normalization, noise reduction, and maybe a 250-hz bass boost option. Bass-y mics don't always cut thru heavy codec compression or in-game mic comms very well, so I can see the tone of this mic being useful for gamers. It's not an overwhelmingly pleasant sound though, yeah. Hurts my ears even.

Right now, there's a cricket outside my window, making loud noises, my Blue Yeti is gonna pick up that noise. Porn actress uses this mic for ASMR, it's nice. The Samson Q2U is my secondary mic. I like it very much. It's Dynamic, doesn't pick up background noises (not many). And with a mixer, you can spicy the quality.

I'm a software engineer and in my free time, do some videos. For my videos, I use Canon M50 with microphone Rode Microphones Wireless GO. It works better than expected. For interviews, I use Takstar SGC-598. It's worked pretty well with M50. Both microphones are with 3.5mm Jack. On my pc, I am with Asus STRIX Z390-F (good integrated audio card) and creative-sound-blaster-x-fi-titanium external sound card. I do some tests with these microphones, and both have some noise on my pc. Start reading about USB or XPL microphone to record good quality sound on my PC for podcasts and video tutorials. Yesterday I bought Fifine Metal USB mic and Behringer XM 8500 (with XPL to USB cable converter). Till I am waiting to come here, I have a few questions about that. Do you think that USB mic is better than 3.5 mics for PC mirophone? 2. Do you think that Behringer XM 8500 will be better with XPL to USB covector without Audio Interface? I watched and read many reviews and think that I don't think that I need Audio Interface and expensive microphones at all. 3. What cardioid mic you suggest, and why? I don't see any sense to get Blue Yeti because I will use only Cardioid (will record myself). Also, I read tat XM 8500 for voice recording is equal to Shure SM58, and I don't see any sense to buy that expensive mic. I am not a singer or guitar artist. Do you think that I need an expensive Audio Interface, and this will help me to record myself (podcasts, video tutorials)? Thank you in advance!

watched already 5+ hours reviews on YT for a different mics and I would definitely say, that your reviews are the best. More direct comparisons with alternatives in different price categories would be rly nice :D p.s. I know that I dont need all yeti stuff... But its nice to have for low overprice. Otherwise I would stick with some professional mics like sennheiser MK4. But there I will need an interface, otherwise the digital version costs atm around 400 euro... :( + I didnt see any professional mic with MUTE button, which is rly important for casual use. So now the choise is between Samson g track pro for 150 euro, which is currently unavailable to buy in germany (nowhere) or yeti x for 179 euro with nice software and I wouldnt say that is much worse than samson even without that software.

I actually think the Yeti sounds better at desktop-distance than right up on it. Up close it sounds a little rough and sibilant... at a small distance it smooths out. I suspect it was designed to sound best at that distance, considering that it has a desk stand built in. Great intro by the way.
@Podcastage5 жыл бұрын
It may not be the worst sounding thing ever at greater distances, but I'm still not keen on it. Regardless, at a distance once you start typing on a keyboard and clicking on a mouse...or if you have an untreated room, any decent sound that you have will be overtaken by the the BG noise and reverb.
