It's fragile, because it breaks every now and again. Something you simply cannot act easily on. Loved that in the show too. It made her get 2 different sides to her character.. On one side the tough girl being bitchy when needed and on the other, the lovely best friend to Peyton, always trying to do right by her, even after she sometimes had slipped.

@Hsushisisjs first of all not everyone expresses themselves through their facial features you'll find that some people have little to no motion on their face as they speak. if you "don't particularly care" then why point it out y'know it's like you're purposely looking for something to make this woman seem less than to idk make yourself feel better?

i find that a lot of women feel insecure seeing a beautiful successful woman so instead of congratulating them they feel the need to level out the playing field by suggesting something that has no merit with their looks in particular

not to talk about the fact that in a new beauty interview she's asked what anti-aging advice do you follow? she says: To not think about aging. There are far more exciting, beautiful, wonderful ways for women to spend their time than worrying about whether or not they’re aging. so to suggest someone so secure would have surgery done doesn't make sense

Okay. Breathe! Im currently binging my way through all of OTH. I’m about to start season 9, the last. I’ve been following these revelations on how monstrous Mark Schwan was. I’m a late-30s white gay male. In my teens, I thought Tree Hill was boring. I was more of a wild OC fan. But I always kept my eye on the other teen drama that followed in The OC’s footsteps for the first four years. And it’s really cool to watch the whole thing as one piece now, knowing the trajectory and journey of the show. A quiet WB teen drama turned campy teen drama, turned time-jump romp with stalkers galore and the always lost Dan Scott character arc (tough dad turned jealous murderous brother turned victim turned *checks notes* televangelist? turned dead-beat diner cool turned *checks notes again* savior from Nathan’s kidnapping?). Then the show got extremely PG, boring, and nearly conflict free throughout season 8. But then season 9 goes for one more off-the-rails moment?! Love it!

That's so funny to hear that OTH's viewership skewed more to women (at least for a time). Aside from healthy dose of girl-power story lines here and there, the overall story of the show felt like it was based mainly on the Brothers so would appeal mostly to young guys wanting to watch and live vicariously. Glad to hear it was appreciated by a broader audience after all.

I struggle with the dialogue about feeling stuck for the reasons stated in this part of the conversation, because some of them decided to extend their contracts after season 6. With other shows like Gossip Girl (and now Riverdale), they got out as soon as possible 😂 When you sign up for a high school show, that means a significant portion of time will be spent in high school…. Appreciate as humans we all have frustrations with our jobs. Maybe I just can’t relate as someone in a regular job.

But remember that actors are artists. They don’t want to play the same characters for too long.
@joslynhart9397 Жыл бұрын
@@tinasapienza6552 which is why I made the point about them choosing to extend their contracts? For me, there is missing acknowledgment of choosing to sign an initial six year contract and subsequently deciding to extend this, because there are informed implications. Knowing how long you would need to stay is not a blindsided situation. Also, not wanting to stay in a job for so long is not singular to being actors or artists - we’re all fundamentally human beings. Some people may also like to stay for reasons like to economic stability (e.g Grey’s Anatomy from an acting perspective). Regardless, whenever I have conversations about work frustrations, personal choices aren’t dismissed from this.
