'Podfather' Adam Curry Was SCARED to Tell Joe Rogan THIS | The Glenn Beck Podcast | Ep 187

Glenn Beck

Жыл бұрын

After years as an atheist, former MTV VJ Adam Curry did the unthinkable: He told Joe Rogan to give Jesus a chance. But it wasn’t an easy task. Adam joins Glenn to tell the story of how he arrived at that “scary” moment when he knew he had to tell his friend - and millions of listeners - about how Christianity transformed his life. But, as he tells Glenn, it didn’t happen all at once. God has been working on him and through him for a long time. But now, he has fully joined the fight against evil: “We’re at the never-again moment.” Glenn and Adam go on a journey through the battlefield of today’s broken world, from the roots of transgenderism and its effects on teenage girls to the devastating power of Big Pharma. Adam - as the “black sheep” of a family with plenty of ties to the military and intelligence worlds (his uncle was even a CIA agent) - also provides insight into the deep state, including the history of shady intelligence operations like “Operation Paperclip.” This leads seamlessly into a discussion about Big Tech and AI and why he’s much more optimistic about it than Glenn is. As Adam argues, there’s plenty to be hopeful about. He tells Glenn, “When you change your words, you’ll change your world.” This episode is proof.

I liked this a lot. I want to ask Glen about the particulars of his belief. Is he a traditional Mormon/Latter Day Saint? Because his words and testimony, is sounding great, that is compatable with traditional Christian beliefs. Mormonism, however has some BIG, differences, especially in the area of, for example: are Jesus and Satan brothers? Can everyone become God? What about the book of Mormon? The golden plates? Special undergarments? Etc. I don't want to bring up differences. However, some basic differences need to be addressed. I love Glen, no matter what. Just asking.
@eladasil
@eladasil Жыл бұрын
@@stephencarter6392 If I may respond.... I was raised Mormon and became a Jesus Freak ;-) during the Jesus movement. Are there difference in the beliefs? Yes. But in my opinion, none them are any more severe than denominational differences. Doctrinal differences don't really concern me. Who cares if they wear special undergarments? Other denominations believe in other holy items with "special powers". Who cares if they believe Jesus and Satan were brothers? Is it scriptural? No. Is it odd? Yes But it's not something to cause division. Do they believe in other books? Yes but Catholics believe in the apocrypha. Can Mormons become God? Didn't Jesus pray, "Father, let these become one as you and I are one!" Also, Paul wrote that Jesus did not consider it blasphemy to be one with or on an equal plain with God. Who knows the depths of what that really means. Many Christian leaders have come up with unusual doctrines in an attempt to explain what the Bible means when it says something. Some churches believe in universal salvation, the lake of fire as a temporary purging. Others believe in eternal damnation. The bottom line is Mormon's believe in a loving God and eternal salvation through Jesus Christ. They believe in a relationship with a Father in heaven who loves us. Scripture tells us what a true believer is and that we will know them by their love. What do the differences matter? No one should be judged or needs to explain their own religious beliefs unless they want to in a loving, non-judgmental discussion. God bless!

My daughter told me to tune in to Joe and Adam. She did not say which podcast. I chose one 4 years ago looking for the name of the ‘book’ she wanted to read. I found nothing of any substance. Then found Jou Rogan’s ‘Jesus’ podcasts 1-3 with Adam. Oh my goodness. What a transformed life and perspective! He is on fire for Jesus and that is the gift that will keep on giving. Thank you, Glenn, for hilighting his story to faith. Grateful for the person who persevered with him. What an incredible transformation- also glad his wife is on this path with him. Only God.

Luv you Glenn! I have been listening for 20 years. As a personal story, I have had situations twice in my life when Prayer absolutely worked - once recently where I have had a lifelong problem with my brother who treated me very bad growing up, and someone at an AA Meeting - 23 years Sober today actually - who said, "Pray for him!" I was so blocked into my resentments toward him, and he has tried to reconnect recently as I am now dealing with a disease, and my mental response was always, "F him!" Well, after that response by that friend, I bit the bullet and after a few days of begrudgingly asking GOD to look after and help my Brother, I suddenly felt the resentments were gone!! PRAYER REALLY DOES WORK!! GOD BLESS you GB and this wonderful guest!

Here is what is wild….. if you stop listening to the media and instead look to what has actually been done in Russia, you may find that Putin is not what you presuppose him to be. Look to what he did during covid, what he’s done re: caring for the land, etc.- there is much more than meets the eye. A retired high ranking military friend provided an entirely different perspective on what is happening. It may be said, “How dare he put his country so close to our NATO bases.” The only thing comparable is the Bay of Pigs. We would not tolerate it as a country but we expect Russia to put up with it. See Tucker Carlson’s interview with Putin. It is intriguing. Your mother is right- pray for him and for ALL EYES to be opened to the truth (I suspect even our eyes are clouded). I base this upon watching how the war developed in Ukraine. As a retired military spouse- the way Putin went in was not as a tyrant looking to take over a country.

You are 100% right when you said the answer to all of this is love. Their goal, the reason they keep tightening the screws, is to get the people to break and turn on each other. They don't have to fight us if they can make us fight ourselves. But if we unite, if we all agree that no matter how bad things get, we will not stop loving each other and helping each other, Evil can not win. If they make our food sources harder and harder to find, don't attack your neighbor for his food! Work with them to find, grow and produce more food for everyone. Share, love, work together no matter how dark they try to make the world seem, and they can not win. Love makes us invincible to evil.

Who amongst us caught Adam Curry's comment, "Aslan is on the move." ? If I heard it correctly it is a reference to CS Lewis's book series, The Chronicles of Narnia. The last book of the series, titled, " The Last Battle" is incredibly prescient allegory to what is happening today, written by Christian scholar in the fifties with an uncanny storyline but overlays with current events. I read the series as a child in the sixties. It must have made a mark because it seemed to call to me to be re-read and remember these are children stories, during the cold winter of the original covid-19 lockdowns - this is coming from the US. The rest of the story is that CS Lewis was a Christian thought maker and author who wrote various books about various topics both nonfiction and fiction.
