1. Is there only one god, or are there multiple gods? If multiple, how is a person to choose which deserves obedience? 2. Would you agree that before anything can exist, something has to create it? Did your god create everything? If yes, who/what created your god? 3. Is your god infallible? 4. Is your god omnipotent? 5. Is your god omniscient? 6. Is your god benevolent, or malicious? 7. If your god cannot make mistakes, then it follows that everything it creates is either perfect, or that your god intentionally makes things that are flawed. Would a benevolent god intentionally create something likely to suffer because of its flaws? 8. If your god can do anything, and it created the universe, why didn't it simply create a perfect world inhabited by perfect beings? If your god wanted obedience, and god is not malicious, why did god make disobedience possible? 9. If your god knows everything, does it already understand every thought and feeling you have? Does it instantaneously know everything you say and do? If yes, what is the point of religious rituals, such as prayer? 10. Why would an omnipotent and omniscient god not communicate directly and unambiguously with individuals, with no need of books, churches, prophets, signs, miracles, etc? If a person is not intelligent enough, or not "worthy" enough to speak directly with god, whose fault is that? Who made the person in the first place? If a person is unworthy or incapable of directly communicating with god, how can that person be capable of recognizing a valid spokesperson for god? 11. Think about the person/people who convinced/persuaded/ordered you to believe in a version of god. Are they infallible? Is it at all possible for them to tell you something they sincerely believe, but for that thing they tell you to be actually incorrect? 12. Are feelings reliable tools to guide actions? Suppose I hear a person in my neighborhood talking a lot about the presence of violent break in robberies nearby, and I get apprehensive. I am convinced by the passion my neighbor puts into this story, even though I've seen no tangible evidence. That night, I hear a noise. I FEEL certain that it is a robber breaking in to harm my family. I get out of bed, pull a pistol from the bedside table. Without opening the bedroom door, I shoot through it to get the robber. When I open the door, there is my son, lying dead on the floor from my bullet. I was sure. I relied on my feelings. My fear of a robber. My hope of being a defender father. Feelings, not facts. Was that a good way to live my life? 14. Do you deny that religion (superstition, irrational behavior) is the root cause of most human conflict in history, that for centuries millions have been tortured and murdered "because god told me to do it"? 13. Suppose a person has a book full of maps to guide a group journey. They rely upon it, but the group is perpetually lost. You question the map book, but your friend insists that the map book is flawlessly accurate. "How do you know?" you ask. They reply, "I know that this book is accurate and perfect, because it says so in the book." Your friend insists that the map book is information from god.....but some other people wrote the book, based on their interpretations...why? Why didn't god write the book personally? How could information possibly become more accurate and truthful when filtered thorough con men?.....but that is okay, because of how passionately they shout about their version of the book, and how strongly it makes your friend feel. When you show them hundreds of self contradictions in the book, they get upset and say that you are just not reading the book correctly. Which person is messed up? You, or the book fanatic? How do you justify cherry picking which parts of the bible to follow? Leviticus? 14. If the point is to die and go to heaven, why not simply commit mass suicide and get it over with? Christ was quite literally a kamikaze; is that what you preach should be emulated in daily life? 15. Why is it necessary to use superstition and irrationality to justify your practical principles? Why treat humans like a donkey in need of the stick of hell and the carrot of heaven? If you want positive secular behavior, why not justify that behavior in practical terms? Why do you need to use HATE and FEAR to get people to OBEY your literally INSANE beliefs? Wake up. Reality is OBJECTIVE, not subjective.
@busolaolagunju34109 ай бұрын
@noneyabusiness2237 Lol. You are obviously a genus who is smarter than every great and pedestrian Christian thinker. I am not so bright sadly but have to take issue with your last point:,REALITY IS OBJECTIVE. Are you serious? How is it objective? The very space in front of you that you could swear is empty. Look again with a telescope. You really do not know that your five senses through which you perceive 'reality' is terribly limited and relays only a fraction of 'reality'. Your dog would tell you if it could speak that there are more smells than you can pick up, same with sounds and you're so touchingly certain that it's only what you can see and hear that actually exists and things that make sense to you that are rational.Lol. You can't even understand why that there MUST have been an uncreated first being in the first instance, yet you presume to confine the entire universe to your limited reasoning capabilities. Incredible😅

How just because there were giants in those days does the sons of God have to be bad angels?..and not just rebellious men. There were giants in the promised land when Moses led the people out of Egypt hears later years after the flood. Giants do not have to be half fallen angel and half human.
@HeyWiseGuy Жыл бұрын
@@shelleythomas1046 Do you have a better explanation for how ordinary men and women produced giant offspring considering men in ancient times were not tall at all by our standards? Based on skeletal remains, men in Moses's time were about 5'7" or so. The same is true of Roman soldiers. They can hardly be confused for giants. Almost every Native American tribe has a story of how they fought giants. Human beings don't produce children with double rows of teeth yet skeletons of giants have been found just that way. Check out L.A. Marzulli who has devoted decades researching the Nephilim. The man is a documentary film maker, author, and and researcher without peer, in my opinion. His KZbin channel has themed programs, one of which is called "On the Trail of the Nephilim." Perhaps you'll come away with a new understanding of how giants came to be.

@@BecketCook Hi Becket. I am a fellow Christian here. I just started following your channel recently. I think you do a great job. I have a "questions and answers gospel tract" that I am praying will go global by the grace of God. I worked on it for 3 years, and have been distributing it for almost 2 years. Would you be interested in taking a look? It has KZbin video links to the following questions... Isn't it true that science contradicts the bible? What about people who lived in places or times that never heard of Jesus? What evidence could they possibly have for knowing about the Christian God of the bible? What is your favorite argument for the existence of the Christian God? How could a loving God allow so much evil and suffering? Is it possible to find REAL truth and meaning? ...Or are those things simply relative/subjective to each individual? Belief in God vs. atheism or agnosticism... which of the 3 is actually reasonable? How can I know if Jesus was a real historical person that actually existed? Why doesn't God just show himself visibly to everyone? What evidence could there possibly be to justify believing in miracles, and something as improbable as the resurrection? What is the Gospel, and why is it so important to Christians? What exactly is hell? Why would hell even exist if God loves all people? What did Jesus claim things would be like for those whom He saves? What makes REAL Christianity different from other religions and beliefs in the world? How do we know if the bible is reliable? How can I test to see if the Bible isn't simply a bunch of fictional stories? What about stuff in the Bible that sounds like fairy tales? How exactly does God go about giving His message through scripture? Is there any scientific, logical and compelling evidence for the soul? Isn't there a lot of contradictions in the bible? What does it mean for us to be in the "Image" or "Likeness" of God? Is evolution compatible with Christianity? What are your favorite resources for getting to know what God is like? How do we know FOR SURE that Jesus is actually God? What is the Trinity?

Hi, God gave us His Son to be the Unblemished Lamb for sins of the world over .without Christ we could not be restored to fellowship with God. We were missing out on relationship to God bc of sin.This was all done for the glory of God,not our glory. We were like sheep going astray, each to his own way. God couldn't let the guilty go free. I read Unseen Realm three years ago and it radically adapted the way I viewed the Word and the world, I'd fully recommend it to people. I've watched a lot of his videos too, I watched one on the Trinity in the Old Testament - it was awesome. One thing I've heard him say in other talks but probably didn't get time to in this one, was that even though the Watchers have been disempowered, they haven't gone anywhere - they're still on Earth, influencing world leaders because they work smart not hard. He said they'll occasionally show up, target those with the most influence (Governments, Entertainment industry, education the lot) and 'direct' (more like misdirect) the nations. I'm not of the mindset of Kingdom Now Theology that puts the Church in charge of the state of the earth, and that it presents a conquered earth to Yahshua - I'm of the mindset of we are in the world but not of it, we who are called by Yahweh's Name, need to remain in the fear of Yahweh, the love of Yahshua and extend that to one another in humility (Philippians 2). Some of us will be martyred, all will face persecution, but through patience and endurance, through the blood of the Lamb and the Word of our testimony we will overcome the world and NOT succumb. It's Christ's job to subdue the nations and judge them, like Mike Heiser was saying regarding the Messianic prophecies that Yahshua deliberately half quoted. The Church needs to realign with the reality of the Bible writers to have a sober judgement of what our remit actually is, to not get deluded with thinking we can escape tribulation, that we're grafted into the Olive Tree (Israel, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob etc and their wives and faithful descendants [Romans 11]) and that it will glorify the Son as He glorifies His Father, Halleluyah! Let's get ready and know the warfare we're in (Eph 6)

Dr. Heiser is such a gem💎. I have listened to hours of his teaching having been introduced to him on SkyWatchTV. He clears the fog of men's doctrines and distills things down to the Word in context, especially historically. His books are great. Thanks Becket! 😊 Prayers for Dr. Heiser.

so after a couple false stars and stops, I went ahead and watched the entire show...let me say I truly appreciate all the studying Dr Heiser has done. I would say it was an interesting and informative show...pointed out some things I'd never noticed...I don't think it has changed or affected the way I look at evil, Satan, demons etc and the power they have. I still believe walking out my Christian life daily in the Word, talking with God, fellowshippig with believers etc is the only way to combat the powers and principalities.

I have just been following Becket for a short time and have loved what I have heard. I clicked on this one because of the topic. I have started to see a bunch of videos on the internet of "Christians" who talk about and even make fun of other preachers and teachers, which started to shake me because I had some bad feelings when listening to 2 of them not really talking about the Lord, but something else. I started to wonder in the beginning of Dr. Heiser's talk because there were things I didn't recognize and was startled. Now before this, when there would be a good teaching, but the Preacher speaking would take a jab at another Christian religion, I would always leave a comment that this is a time we should come together because there are outside unbelievers coming after us, to get rid of Christians. So, when I decided to listen to more of Dr. Heiser, I realized his teaching was Bible based, just not things I was familiar with. I decided to go back to my belief of us sticking together and stop listening to videos poking fun at other pastors from supposed Christians. Another thing I would leave on places where Christians bashed other Christian religions is "They will know we are Christians by our love." As I continued to hear Dr. Heiser speak, I was fascinated and realized how much work he had put into this and the whole thing was based on the Bible, I knew for sure I wanted to hear this again and again until the words and order the Bible was read became familiar. I found this to be fascinating and can't wait to hear and read more of his work. I am sending prayers for complete healing for Dr. Heiser and anyone here who is suffering. I think it is important to continue to remind other Christians who bash other Christians to remember that they will know we are Christians by our love. We need each other right now. Thank you for inviting this scholar on your chanel. I can't wait to hear what he has to say next.

It’s right to critique fake teachings but you’re right we should not be mean and we should love the true brethren and pray for those who we believe are either false or teaching false things. God bless you.

We are to have discernment and to rebuke others who are teaching lies in Jesus’ name and hurting believers through the teachings. Those “preachers” who say you can be healed if you send them $1k are liars and must be silenced. Those who add to the Bible and claim God said what He didn’t say must be called out. The list goes on. It is a loving thing to protect the vulnerable from conmen behind pulpits.

Thank you for your response. The origins of the Bible only go back so far- The printing Press 1500AD. Did you ever wonder what doctrine was used prior to that? When a person studies deeply they are lead back to a sacred religion that is constantly bashed, reviled by many Christians under constant attack (even from within) etc. I have been a Christian my whole life, when I became a Catholic Christian The persecution increased dramatically mostly from other Christians. There is a concerted effort to silence Catholics. I go to Mass to get the Body and Blood of Jesus as he says to do at least 14 times in the Bible. It is possible to be both saved John 3:16 and Catholic See Mathew, Mark, Luke, John, 1Corinthians 10 and 11 and Acts 2 and 20. I believe what the scripture says about the Holy Eucharist and eternal life.

Thank you Becket for introducing me to Michael S. Heiser. Because of this episode, which was riveting, I have been plowing through Dr. Heiser"s , Naked Bible podcast. He is a hugely gifted scholar, and we are blessed to have access to his years and years of research. His knowledge of ancient culture, Greek and Hebrew, and all of the writings surrounding the inspiration and compilation of the Holy Scriptures brings such a broad and yet direct approach to the fall, and the perfect redemption . Praise God for Dr. Heiser, and I pray he is in peace and free from his temporal body. Thank you for this legacy of wisdom.

I’ve tried talking to people, and I’m still trying to talk to the same people but they are either offended or annoyed. Praying that we all become more bold & effective, maybe we do not have because we do not ask - with God nothing is impossible so I’m asking Him to help us.

Thank you for doing this show. And greetings from Dallas. Both you and Dr. Heiser are treasures in your own right. I love his idea of hastening His return by being about the Churches mission to spread the gospel. The writer of the television series The Chosen often says it is not our job to feed the 5000 but rather to provide the loaves and fishes. I love that. It is freeing. The pressure is already off, the battle won. Reach out to those you love and show them where Love comes from. I can’t wait for that day when we ALL will See the Unseen Realm.

@cslewis1404 nice user name! I feel that some of this knowledge was kept alive, here and there. C.S. Lewis would have been exposed to the supernatural interpretation, if not from his church, from his own reading. I speculate that the highly educated clergy of the Church of England would have understood some of this, even if they never preached sermons on it specifically. Same for Roman Catholics and Eastern Orthodox.

Thank you so much Becket for doing this interview with Michael. God, through His wonderful grace and mercy provides this insight to us through Michael's work. Insight we so desperately need to make sense of a chaotic world. I've always been drawn to the esoteric side of things. Sadly, this made me a non-believer for most of my early adulthood, believing in New age philosophies instead. God, mercifully redeemed me 5 years ago. Praise God! You are a gifted author Becket. And listened to other teachers like Chris Blackeby who also learned from Dr. Heiser and teaches about the Bible context. And oh what a difference it made for me! I notice that my interest in reading the Bible grew a lot and the understanding of it as well! I started to feel even more reverence before God. And I understand why we call our God the Most High. Dear Becket - I just want to thank you for everything you are doing. As the Mom of a wonderful son (who came out several years ago) and whom I love more deeply than words can convey - many times I feel torn apart. I believe and try to live out what I call outrageous love. My son has moved away further and further from God and scripture - this is what breaks my heart. Thanks to you I continue to believe and pray for my son to come back to a belief in Christ. I don't pray for him not to be gay - I pray that he will come to know the living God in a very real way. Your you tube videos have been very loving and encouraging - ty so very much.

We were studying Genesis in my Reformed PCA church recently. My Sunday School teacher taught the Seth/Cain view. Everyone (including pastor/elders) went along with it. I went up to the teacher after class telling him I believe the passage is referring to the Watcher angels mating with human women to produce the Nephilim - demigods of old. He looked at me like I was insane. I told him I’m reading the passage as what it clearly states. I brought up Michael Heiser and to at least look into his books/KZbin’s. He basically brushed me off. Thank you for bringing up the misogyny in the sons of Seth/daughters of Cain interpretation , Mr. Heiser . I thought I was the only one who thought that -and was somewhat-offended. 😉

Hey Becket, love your show!! I have read many books by Dr. Heiser, and I just received his book Demons and can't wait to dive into it. This was by far the best interview I've seen with Dr. Heiser, you asked the questions that were going through my own mind. I've struggled over the years, being bisexual, and it was only when I was transformed completely by Christ did I know true healing and forgiveness from that lifestyle. I accepted Christ earlier in my life but fell back into that lifestyle on and off at times, it was not an overnight change. But God was long-suffering and never gave up on me and gave me the grace to change. My prayers will go out to Dr. Heiser and his family daily, his teachings and books have been such a blessing in my life! Thank you again for a great show!! God Bless You.
