Weekends like this sucks. On one hand, one car did really well and we should be happy, but on the other hand, the sister car was all sorts of messed up and wasted one of the best chances of the year after so much prep. Damn, ever since the supercharger went on, that car has been pleading for its life. Definitely encourages me to stay N/A, but hope you get it all figured out man, we all need to see how fast you can go!

It seems more like small mistakes here and there, most of them avoidable, most likely caused by the pressure and probably short amount of time to work in the car, good thing Jackie is strong and always keeps pushing forward.

When you go with forced induction that's not factory it turns into a lot of trial and error unless someone who's on a similar setup can help you shortcut past their mistakes as well.

Yes and no. He just need a better tuner. That can work a strategy in the tune. Traction control, boost by gear or speed. So many options. Spinning ain't wining. No offense.

might be time to upgrade both cars with the Vibrant couplers. Weld them onto the throttle body and air to water intercooler. That should solve most of your blown coupler issues.

@@JackieDing86 that's one opinion. I have two intercooler pipe on my build. Everything welded so less chance of failure.

Spray hairspray on surfaces before installing silicone couplers, no problems then!

Or just use T-bolt clamps over bead rolled pipes. It'll hold just about anything.

For Fiona. She need stiffer motor mount. In order to not allow to much movement of the engine with the charger. So look in to vibrant metal coupler clamps

We already have Hasport for engine and Innovative for Trans mount on her car. This was simply caused by the BOV issue

Idk if you saw my comment from last time or someone else recommended them to you. But those hose clamps should hold a lot of boost no issues when seated right and clamped to the moon. Sucks fiona crashed but atleast she was a good sport about it and went back out

It's all good bro, it's a rough slump. I'm more concerned about you dude. Get some more rest whenever you can. I focused on your reactions from the POV camera on your helmet and noticed it's VERY slight, but labored/tired looking. Like you've been up for 72 hours before you went racing. lol Do the most, just don't over cook it, ya know? Was it just the alternator that went? Because when you said that it wouldn't engage VTEC, whatever sound that was didn't sound too good at all. Hopefully everything will be fine, looking forward to running you all in Atlanta next month!

That week had been rough ha. The weekend before, we were tuning Fiona’s car, running around getting part, then drove through the night for the test day but her car broke again, add in school and her car breaking during the race too, I was running quite empty. Feeling pretty good now, batteries charged up, ready for what’s next.

Great video. Hopefully just alternator went bad. Question: why don't you guys run some heavy duty T-bolt clamps on boost hoses?

I believe the reason was that the constant-torque clamps on the car was scientifically better and more suited for the job (don’t quote me on that), but we did end up replacing them with T-bolt clamps anyways .

I do a GoPro sticky mount right on the steering column panel, reinforced with duct tape ha

Did you ever dial out the high speed push? or do you just deal with it? Seems like its a constant characteristic of your car, but you balance it out so easily (at least on video) with throttle it makes me curious on what the actual "fix" would be... maybe less aggressive Jackie is the answer! JK, another great job hustling those S2s from both you and Fiona

I’m actually kinda happy with a little bit of high speed understeer. The S2K is already inherently a twitchy chassis, having the aero balance set up like this really helps generate confidence charging into those high speed corners and carrying momentum. Actual fix would be to add more front downforce, but we’re a little limited on that front, so what I did from Gingerman was to reduce the rear wing angle. It was a lot better here for sure, maybe I can still go a click or two less rear wing.

@@JackieDing86 I prefer slight inherent understeer myself as unsexy as that sounds so I see what you mean with carrying the speed, that makes sense. Doesn't look like you can sacrifice more rear lol, twitchy is an understatement but I'm comparing this to my FC with no rear bar since it keeps snapping end links

I believe dead alternator, lead to dead battery then DBW throttle packed up and ECU was having trouble staying functional.

well not really the same i can tell you. Temp might read the same but over here it's the humidity is so intense. Believe me. It's like...let's say one is heat coming from a firecamp and the other is like a heat coming from an oven!!

I felt no problems with rear grip to be honest. It’s just a very sensitive car to drive and if you get things wrong it’ll be upset and oversteer.

I kinda thought the same thing, I love what Jackie is doing but it seems he’s always fighting the car. It’s as if his driving style and the S2000 don’t mix. Either way keep pushing forward young Man 👍🏾

There are nothing wrong with the car or Jackie's driving style. The S2K has been well known for its sensitivity/snappiness requiring a very attentive driver, even in normal daily operations. With Jackie driving it on the limit practically every turn, of course it appears to slide everywhere. For the average joe, he would've crashed 50 times already. As for it being in the rain, it is 100 times scarier, even in day to day driving on the streets, hence I tend to stay away from the rain with mine. Go watch Jackie's other video racing in the rain, he's the only one I've seen that could control the S2K so amazingly on wet surface. Even Fiona couldn't avoid a crash after freshly completed the drift course.

Whole new car? really? after all the dev work and knowledge gained with the S2K, just throw it away?, you would think you just spend some money and work on aero and better reliability. Unless of course i take it you have rich parents and money isnt an issue.
