I wish Americans the best in the upcoming elections. Beware of social media, though: it is an echo chamber and it can be truly misleading. Before getting too excited, look sideways - I hate to be raining on people's parades but it does not look so positive from across the pond...

What do you think about the idea that the ‘ticket’ that voters choose between contain named members of the cabinet that each ticket would nominate? Presidential candidates should present this information to voters as part of what they use to decide. That way, we could see their planned appointment. I think that would be really helpful to undecided voters.
@Emanon...4 ай бұрын
It's not a bad idea, but frankly, the average American voter can't even be bothered to learn about the candidate. If anything, they should clearly note who donated to them and their super Packs. That's tells you much lore about their agenda. Who owns your candidate? I don't see how their cabinet appointments would help the decision considering the level of information and education and lack of political literacy with the average American voter. Just my 2 cents from Europe.
@bumblingexpat81784 ай бұрын
@@Emanon... whilst I agree that the majority of voters are I by and large ignorant of the details, I would also say that of the British people and yet having the ‘shadow cabinet’ declare their own policies (if they be so bold) does, at the very least, give media the job to use this information to try to make sense of it all. The biggest and best improvement that could be made, however, is to reduce the length of the campaigning season and get the money out. The money is like a cancerous tumour that has metastasised.

I am voting for VP Harris. I think she has earned her chops in the Biden administration. The only suggestion I would give her is to study the Palestine Arab history and really get a good understanding of UNRWA’s relationship with Hamas. Don’t just skim the surface of this war, dig deep. BTW, I’m no fan of Bibi.

I remember Harris's last campaign, so while we're all worried excited about this transition im desperately hoping she learned from her last run and that shes learned a thing or 2 from Biden. Because there are some clips of her out there that could paint her in a pretty ugly light

Yes they ask her about people dying, and she starts laughing like a villain in a movie. So she creeped out Democrats in the primaries, but magically this has all been forgotten.

@spaniardsrk5108 any Kamala Harris clip can be mirrored by 100 Trump clips... It's bizarre how we keep grading Trump on a curve but want all Democratic Candidates to be spotless angels. Yes Kamala mad mistakes, I'M CERTAIN she regrets them. Many politicians make mistakes. The crazy thing is that Trump wasn't even a politician but still called for the state to impose the death sentences on a bunch of falsely accused black teenagers. There was NOTHING asking him to have a opinion on the case, but he went out of his way to buy ads in newspapers to call for the death sentence. That's not mentioning the Trump comment about Epstein, indicating that he knew he was a pedophile. The fact that Trump was one of the people that showed up as a reliable buddy of Epstein in the "Epstein Papers." There's a clip of Trump pointing at a young girl and saying: in 10 years I'm going to be dating her 🤢🤢🤢.

I live in a very affluent (supposedly Democrat stronghold ) suburb in CT. Speaking with a neighbor, she relayed that she’s hearing from other women Democrats, the criticism that Harris is that smart, etc. This unnerved me. I would expect this sort of response from wealthy MAGA Republican women, but not fellow Democrats. Anyone else getting similar feedback?

I fail to see her changing course on NATO, Ukraine, Russia, China, Israel, Palestine, and a host of other issues in geopolitics and international relations. The bipartisan stances on these issues needs to shift radically from war and non-communication to peace and diplomacy, from internal meddling to live and let live, from lies and propaganda to historically contextual facts and truth, from direct complicity in ethnic cleansing and genocide to support of international human rights law and the arresting of accused war criminals like Benjamin Netanyahu, from the targeting and encirclement of China to cooperation and collaboration on global existential crises. In short, both establishment parties belong in the dustbin of history immediately if we desire a future as a species.
